Using chess24 requires the storage of some personal data, as set out below. You can find additional information in our Cookie Policy, Privacy Policy, Disclaimer and Terms of Website Use. Please note that your data settings can be changed at any time by clicking on the Data Settings link in the footer at the bottom of our website.

Necessary Data

Some data is technically necessary to be able to visit the page at all. A so-called cookie stores identifiers that make it possible to respond to your individual requests. It contains a session ID - a unique, anonymous user ID combined with an authentication identifier (user_data). A security identifier (csrf) is also stored to prevent a particular type of online attack. All of these fields are alpha-numeric, with almost no relation to your real identity. The only exception is that we monitor some requests with the IP address that you are currently using, so that we are able to detect malicious use or system defects. Additionally, a technical field is stored (singletab) to ensure that some interactions are only processed in the browser tab that is currently active. For example, a new chess game will not be opened in all your current tabs. We use your local storage to save the difference between your local clock and our server time (serverUserTimeOffset), so that we are able to display the date and time of events correctly for you. We measure how our page is used with Google Analytics so that we can decide which features to implement next and how to optimize our user experience. Google stores your device identifiers and we send tracking events (such as page requests) to Google Analytics. These have no direct relationship to your person except for the IP address currently being used and your Google Analytics identifiers. You can also enable more data fields, as described in the other sections. Your personal decision on which data storage to enable is also stored as necessary information (consent).

Settings Data

We offer a range of personal settings for your convenience. Options include which opponents you prefer to be paired against, your preferred chessboard and pieces, the board size, the volume setting of the video player, your preferred language, whether to show chat or chess notation, and more. You can use our web page without storing this data, but if you would like to have your individual settings remembered we recommend enabling this feature. For logged-in registered users this setting is mandatory to store information about your privacy settings, users you have blocked and your friendship settings. As a registered user we also store your data consent in these settings.

Social Media Data

We embed a Twitter feed showing activity for the hashtag #c24live and also make it possible to share content in social networks such as Facebook and Twitter. If you enable this option social networks are able to store data in your cookies or local storage for the purpose of these features.

Statistics Data

Enable this feature to allow us to gather more individual measurements and statistics, so that we can make better decisions about which content and features are important to you and should be a priority to improve.

Other Data

For registered users we store additional information such as profile data, chess games played, your chess analysis sessions, forum posts, chat and messages, your friends and blocked users, and items and subscriptions you have purchased. You can find this information in your personal profile. A free registration is not required to use this application. If you decide to contact the support team a ticket is created with information that includes your name and email address so that we can respond to your concern. This data is processed in the external service Zendesk. If you subscribe to a newsletter or are registered we would like to send you occasional updates via email. You can unsubscribe from newsletters and as a registered user you can apply several mail settings to control how your email address is used. For newsletters we transfer your email address and username to the external service MailChimp. If you buy content or subscriptions on chess24 we work with the payment service provider Adyen, which collects your payment data and processes information about the payment such as fraud protection data.

Hello Anna! Congratulations on achieving WGM and IM norms at the
Vandoeuvre Open! How does it feel winning against so many strong
players?

Hi Anton! Thank you very much, it’s an amazing feeling. I’m glad to have achieved the norms and to have played nice games, especially the one against GM Christian Bauer.

Another participant in the Vandoeuvre Open, Marie Boyarchenko,
hinted us that some players were uncomfortable with your strong games?

Yes, there was a “trio” who just simply couldn’t believe I played by myself and accused me of cheating. The trio by names: IM Oleg Krivonosov, GM Vladimir Lazarev and IM Ilmars Starostits. They don’t really know how I cheat, but they are “sure” that I cheat. Krivonosov was telling stories about nowadays’ high-technology, and so I heard my lip balm became the most suspicious…

Lips balm secret technology? That sounds ridiculous…. Will any
small kid believe such a thing?

Yes, ridiculous indeed. I usually went away from the board when it wasn’t my turn to move: I like to go out to the fresh air and also to wash my face. Moreover, I played most of my games on the stage, broadcasted, so I didn’t have to sit at the board to see my position. And yes, the lip balm was always with me. Kids, beware, Rybka is in it!

So they were just talking ot they took other actions as well?

Right before the start of Round 9, I was informed by the arbiter that there were some players stating I use some kind of “outer help”. I had to give my bag to him and leave it at the arbiter’s desk for the entire game. I could only keep with myself the things which were taken “under control”. My tiny little box of lip balm was particularly asked to be checked. Things became even more ridiculous when my opponent arrived. I held out my hand to him but he didn’t bother to take it. It was for greeting, so I thought he just didn’t find it necessary to shake hands with women. When the arbiter said to start the clocks, I held out my hand again, but he refused to shake hands with me. I asked him why and he replied: “you don’t play fair”. “I don’t play fair?” - I said, surprised. “Yes, you don’t” - he answered. It created a very “friendly” atmosphere for the game… The game itself was ridiculous, too. He played an “anti-engine” system: e6-d6-b6-g6. Also, whenever he saw I wanted to get up from the board, he tried to make his move immediately, not to let me to. I tried to forget about their accusation during the game, but I hardly managed and couldn’t really concentrate. Finally, I blundered in an equal position. Surprisingly he took my hand when I resigned. Perhaps just because my loss proved that I wasn’t cheating for that - only that - game. I ended up in tears and not because of the result itself, but the way they did it…

Marie told us that they will repeat their actions in the next tournament.

Yes, I heard about this madness. They know I’m going to play on the Cappelle-la-Grande Open, so Krivonosov promised to accuse me there as well. The tournament hasn’t even started and I’m already cheating! I would like to help Mr Krivonosov’s work and let everybody know that I’m a very evil-minded and dangerous girl, using the strongest engines in the shape of a lip balm!

A very strange situation indeed. Were cheating accusations simple cheating paranoia that is slowly but steadily entering the chess world or they were a direct attempt to play with a young girl’s psychology? This is not a case for Chessdom, but for the FIDE ethics commision. However, one thing is sure. That would be itself a strange situation, as Anna Rudolf has the highest Bucholtz and will win the tournament. However, she has not filed an official complaint because she was not aware of the rule. Да,действительно нелепо. Я обычно отхожу от доски когда не мой ход,я люблю выйти на свежий воздух и также вымыть лицо. Более того,я играла большинство партий на сцене,они передавались на экраны,так что я не должна была сидеть перед доской чтобы видеть позицию. И да,моя губная помада
Так они только говорили или делали какие-то действия против Вас?

Перед началом 9-го тура,арбитр сказал мне,что некоторые игроки заявляют,что я использую некий вид «внешней помощи». И что я должна отдать ему мою сумочку м положить ее на столик арьитра на всю игру. И что я могу взять с собой только вещи,которые будут «под контролем». Меня попросили проверить мою маленькую губную помаду. Дело становилось все более нелепым когда прибыл мой противник. Я протянула ему руку,но он ее не пожал. Это было для приветствия, я подумала,что он не считает необходимым пожимать руку женщине. Когда арбитр сказал включить часы,я протянула мою руку снова,но он отказался. Я спросила его «Почему?» и он ответил «Вы играете нечестно». «Я игрю нечестно?» -«Да» ответил он. Это создала «дружескую» атмосферу для игры. Игра сама была тоже нелепой. Он играл «анти-компьютерную» систему ed-d6-b6-g6. Также,когда он видел,что я хочу встать от доски,он старался сделать ход сразу,чтобы не позволть. Я пыталась забыть про обвинения Вов ремя игры,но я едва ли смогла и не могла нормально концентрироваться. В конце концов,я зевнула в равной позиции. Что меня удивило,он мне пожал руку,когда я сдалась. Возможно,он пожал руку,потому что мой зевок доказа ему,что я не жульничаю- в этой игре (Анна грустно шутит,как я понимаю –Paul). Я закончила игру в слезахи не из-за результата,а из-за способа,как он был достигнут…

Мария сказала нам,что они повторят свои действия в следующем турнире.
Да,я слышала про это безумие. Они знают,что я собираюсь играть в Cappelle-la-Grande Опен,Кривоносов обещал обвинить меня там. Турнир даже не стартовал,а я уже жульничаю» Я хотела бы помочь г-ну Кривоносову и позволить всем знать,что я злонамеренная опасная девушка,использующая компьютер в форме губной помады!

Очень странная сттуация. Были ли обвинения в читерстве паранойей,которая медленно но верно входит в шахматный мир илипрямой попыткой играть на психологии юной девушки? Этоне дело Чессдома,но дело этической комиссии ФИДЕ. Тем не менее,одна вещь очевидка. Отказ от пожатия рук мог вести к получению Анной Рудольф целого очка в последней партии http://www.fide.com/news.asp?id=1391
Что само по себе странно,Анна Рудольф имела высший коэффициент Бухголца и тогда бы выиграла турнир. Тем не менее,она не подала официальную жалобу,потому что она не знала об этом правиле.
