New mod directories: ./mods/1.8.0.0/ and ./res_mods/1.8.0.0/

The General Test 1.8 WoT has become available for download.
The third Common Test is open. This is a voluminous patch in several iterations.

CT3: Changelog of CT3 1.8 version compared to CT2 1.8

Major changes.

1. Battle Pass: Season 1 (Battle pass WoT):
Any technique from VI to X level is allowed to participate. When playing on it in Random Battles (excluding the Grand Battle), the player will earn points and advance from stage to stage, receiving rewards as they progress. The progression within the Battle Pass is divided into two consecutive parts: the main and the elite. Both of them consist of a certain number of stages. To move on to the next stage, you need to earn the specified number of points. Stages do not burn out, it is impossible to roll back to the previous stage.

BP points limit.
Each vehicle tier has a certain point limit that can be earned on each vehicle within that tier. Upon reaching this limit, points are no longer earned, and the player must transfer to another car. If the player reaches the points limit on a particular car, they will receive additional points over the limit as a reward.

The main part of the progression.
At the time of the test(!) there are 20 stages in the main part of the progression. To reach each stage, you need to earn the specified number of points.

As part of the main progression, the reward for reaching the milestones is divided into basic and improved. With the start of the event, all players get access to a line of basic rewards. To gain access to the line of improved rewards, you must purchase an improved pass. After purchasing it, the player will receive rewards from both lines at once for all subsequent stages, and will also receive all improved rewards for already completed stages.

In addition to buying an improved pass, the player will be able to buy a certain number of stages, which will automatically advance his progress. All prices, number of stages and milestone rewards are preliminary and serve only for testing functionality.

Elite part of the progression.
Access to the elite part of the progression opens immediately after passing the final stage of the main part. The elite part starts from the 1st stage. Upon reaching the 50th stage (this number is set for the duration of the test), the elite part is considered passed. In the elite part, points are awarded according to the same rules as in the main part, however, the required number of points will increase with each subsequent stage. At the same time, the reached limits of points on vehicles are not reset, and cars with the reached limit will not be able to earn points for the elite progression.

All players in the elite part of the progression will be given a dynamically changing patch, which will display the current stage of the elite progression.

2. Trophy equipment:
A new type of item that initially matches the characteristics of standard equipment, but can be installed regardless of the features of the machine (as well as advanced equipment). The work of the received trophy equipment can be adjusted by paying a certain number of credits (for the duration of the test, the amount is conditional). After adjustment, the characteristics of captured equipment will improve, and it will become similar to the improved one. Two types of equipment will be available: trophy rammer and trophy aiming drives.

3. Issues fixed:
. Fixed an issue with the tooltip field intersecting with the "Compare List" button.
. Fixed some technical features.

4. Other:
- Added content for Season 1 BP: 1 camouflage, 1 2D style, 2 3D styles, 3 crew skins, 1 inscription, 1 emblem, dynamic patch (new item) and 1 medal.
. Added 3 new Crew Skins for the Battle Pass: David Ikibu, Cornelius Durden, John Legrasse.
. Added 2D style for Battle pass: "Trace in history"
. Added camouflage for the Battle pass: "Links of Victory"
. Added 3D style for the Battle pass: "Fluffy" on the tank Object 277
. Added 3D style for Battle pass: "Sentry" on the tank

With the release of each update, it becomes necessary to update the client.

Basically, it automatically updates itself, but there are situations when:

The game itself gives out that it is necessary to update the client;
after installing the game update, the client gives an error;
during a client update, an additional download of updates begins.

Most of the problems with updating the client in the game application can be associated with the extensive use of cheat mods. It is they that are downloaded and installed with a large number of viruses that do not allow a gamer to play normally in an online game.

Consider some ways to update the World of Tanks game client

1. We try to run the game application file with a link to the new update. After launch, the client must update itself, as it provides for an independent (automatic) update.

2. In cases involving a manual or selective update method, it is necessary on the official website of the game application in the "Game" tab, by date to find the last update released. Select the required file and download it to the World of Tanks installation folder.

The next step is to start the client and, if necessary, specify the path to update the new downloaded update file

3. If you refuse to start the client, you must check for "permission to automatically install updates". If there is a ban, then the game will not start without updating and rebooting.

4. Sometimes you need to find the "Launcher" in the installation folder and run it. This action will push the slowing system to update quickly.

5. The last way to update the World of Tanks game client and solve problems with the game not starting after the update is to eliminate prohibited modifications.

It is a large number of them that sometimes do not give permission to automatically update the client.

Therefore, as it were, it was not sad for “honest” players, but they would have to remove all prohibited mods and run the client to update. Subsequently, of course, you can download again and install all the necessary mod packs. But again, this is at your own peril and risk, since they are prohibited and in the future they may also be a source of such problems.

Official mods can not be touched, they cannot cause any glitches even when cheating mods are removed, others should not be touched.

Today, March 20, 2018, the World of Tanks update version 1.0 was released. What changes have taken place in the game?

Graphics changes in WOT 1.0

First of all, this is the new Core graphics engine instead of the old BigWorld. The main goal of introducing its own engine for World of Tanks is an attempt to reduce operating costs and costs associated with renting a BigWorld license from an Australian developer. What awaits players in the new World of Tanks 1.0?

The main change in graphics will be the ability to increase detail and performance. World of Tanks Core allows you to increase the number of triangles for each texture as much as it is necessary for a particular user's computer. The more powerful the PC, the more realistic World of Tanks will be. At the same time, performance will not be excessively loaded due to the use of optimizations in the Core engine.

How the Core graphics engine works

The trees in the game will become a set of 3D screenshots, which will significantly save computer resources with high quality textures. Any fire effects will only be detailed externally, and the invisible area of the effect will remain at low resolution. This will significantly reduce resource consumption and add smoothness to the movement of the tank, remove lags due to the lack of graphics adapter performance on medium PCs. Most graphics calculations will be done once in advance. Each time, the triangles will not be recalculated, and the Core engine will only display the reflections of surfaces, water, or metal sheen that it already has.

Approximately every two or three months, Wargaming releases a new patch for World of Tanks. The latest (September 2014) update 9.2 was released on July 29, 2014. In less than two months, Wargaming has prepared a new patch 9.3. Update 9.3 testing is in full swing. RU-cluster players can try out “fresh” light tanks in battle, as well as experience the new “punitive system” for themselves. In addition, the update will introduce interesting advantages to premium tanks, degrade the performance of a couple of fun vehicles (the British FV304 self-propelled guns, the American M18 tank destroyers), and remove the popular KV-1S from the game. Rather, this level 6 supertank will be divided into 2 tanks, as it once was with the usual KV. But every time a patch is released, players have to update the game. How to update World of Tanks and do it right?

Strictly speaking, there are two ways to update the World of Tanks game:

  • through the game launcher;
  • using a special client.patch.download file.

Let's analyze both methods and decide how best to update the game.

True, for starters, it’s worth saying that all updates must be downloaded only from the official website of the game http://worldoftanks.ru. By downloading patches from other sites or torrents, you expose your game account to the risk of being "hijacked". A few patches ago, the game was updated in another way: the patch was downloaded as a regular exe file and installed on top of the client. Wargaming refused this method of updating, since the subsequent conversion of game files took a huge amount of time, and after installing the exe-file, the game client often "failed".

So, if a new patch has been released, then you can update the client as follows: launch the game launcher and wait for the files to finish downloading.

The launcher will automatically download all the necessary files and install the update.

The volume of updates can be up to three gigabytes. So, if you have a slow Internet, downloading updates for the game will be delayed. At the same time, you have a choice: directly download the files of the new patch from the Wargaming server or use a torrent to update.

Another way to update the game client is as follows: you download a special file in the format "patch name_client.patch.download" and copy it to a special folder of the game client. You can get a link to download this file on the page of the official website of the game http://worldoftanks.ru/ru/content/guide/general/frequently_asked_questions/#ways_to_load .

After downloading the client.patch.download file, you need to copy it to the Updates directory, which is located along the path C:/Games/World_of_Tanks. After that, you need to launch the game launcher, and the updates will be automatically installed.

The answer to the question of how to update WoT has been received. It remains to remember a few useful tips. When updating the game client, it is better to disable the firewall and antivirus, as well as all programs that consume the Internet in an "unlimited amount" - torrent clients and downloaders. The fewer programs will load the Internet channel, the faster you will update the client. As for the installation time for new updates, it all depends on their volume and the hardware of your computer. Sometimes the installation can take up to half an hour.
