Vikings wolves of midgard troll idols. Artistic two-handed staff "Gyungnir". Artistic "Shield Priven"

Throughout the Vikings: Wolves of Midgard story quests, you will occasionally find artifacts - we are talking about individual pieces of the best equipment in the game.

After all three parts of the item are found, by double-clicking on its icon in the inventory, you can collect a new weapon or shield. In total, there are four artifact weapons, which means - 12 parts that you have to find. And we will tell you in detail how to do this and where to find them.

Artistic "Skadi's Big Bow"

Let's start our guide with a bow because its first part, in chronological order, is the first artifact that you will find in the game.

And this will happen literally after the prologue (first chapter), in which your hero becomes the Jarl of the village. This is the first quest of the second chapter "Dangerous Neighbors" called "The End of Yokula".

In the upper right part of the map, there is a freestanding rock on which a chest is located. This chest contains the forend of the Skadi Longbow (1/3).

To open the chest, you have to get to it. To do this, you need to find five levers scattered throughout the location, and activate each of them.

Finding levers is easy once you know where they are. And they are all hidden inside ruined towers, in niches covered with boards. Break the boards and activate each lever. Once ALL levers are activated, you will see a cut-scene with the appearance of the bridge.

You will not receive the next part of the bow soon. You need to get to the story quest "Ring of Sigurd" in the sixth chapter. During the passage of this task, you will need to find a secret passage to the location mini-boss. Its location is shown on the map.

On one of the mounds (it seems to be the second in a row), where you need to find stone discs and place symbols, go right. Inside one of the bunkers underground there will be slabs that you can destroy. The map itself will tell you where the secret passage should be. Behind him, after killing the boss, you will be able to find the artifact shoulders of the "Skadi Longbow" (2/3).

Find your way around the mini-map in this screenshot.

The bowstring of the art "Skadi's Longbow" (3/3) can be found at the penultimate game location, during the passage of the quest "The Way of Ice and Fire". To do this, in the first part of the location, find the ice defender golem. After his death, the desired item will be dropped.

Art two-handed ax "Lavatane"

In the first quest of the third chapter, which is called "The Horror of Fangskar", you can find the handle of the two-handed ax "Lavatane" (1/3). Fortunately, this is easy enough. Moreover, it is impossible to miss this item - you will receive it for killing a troll named Grindan (it will drop out in the form of loot).

But the second part, the artifact of the blade of the two-handed ax "Lavatane" (2/3) is a little more difficult to find. The chest, which contains the item you need to search for the artifact, can simply be overlooked. But first things first.

We are talking about the quest "Robbery in the spirit of the Vikings" in the sixth chapter. As part of this quest, you can find two artifacts at once! The blade of the Lavatein is hidden inside a chest located behind a huge door in the cave. This is the only cave in the location. It contains a room with a locked door.

To open this door, you need to find a rusty key. The rusty key, in turn, is hidden inside a chest located on a boat almost submerged under water.

A boat with a chest with a rusty key inside.

The screenshot shows the location of the very boat - navigate by the mini-map in the lower right corner of the picture. The boat is tied to a pole on the shore. Break the pole and wait for the boat to swim to the bank on the right. After opening the chest, take the key. Use the key to unlock the door inside the cave and take the Lavatein blade from the precious chest.

The last piece of the weapon, the artifact knob of the two-handed ax "Lavatane" (3/3), can be found in the penultimate story quest of the game "Dear Ice and Fire". Just study the location carefully and destroy the fiery defender golem, from which the desired item will drop out (the second part of the location).

Artistic one-handed hammer "Mjelnir"

During the quest "Revenge" in the third chapter of the game, you can find two artifacts at once.

One of them will be the top of the one-handed hammer "Mjelnir" (1/3), which is easy enough to get. During the passage of the task, you will find yourself in the tomte cave. Go to its upper left to find a path that leads to a dead end with a precious chest. Inside it is the item you need.

The second part can be found in the "Knife in the Dark" quest in the eighth chapter. To find the artifact, the handle of the one-handed hammer "Mjelnir" (2/3), you should go up the map from the very beginning of the location. There are two caves here: the right one is deaf, the left one is through. Go to the through cave to find a locked door in it.

There is a chest with the artifact you need behind the door. Opening it is quite simple, but you have to explore the entire location. On the territory of this place there are four caves at once. The cave in which the door is located is one of them. Each of these caves has a lever. Activate all four levers to open the door. When you activate the latter, you will see a cut-scene. Just carefully examine the caves - the current one with the door, adjacent to the right, and the other two on the left side of the map.

The knob of the one-handed hammer "Mjelnir" (3/3) is located inside the burial mound, which you will visit as part of the "Plain of Souls" story quest. Inside the mound, you will have to properly "play" with the levers and hidden passages in order to progress through the plot. When you get inside, then go right to find the first lever to the right of the passage with the pit. Even to the right of it, you will find a wooden scaffold, standing upright. Hit them. The scaffolding will fall, and you will see that now you can get to the precious chest to the right. Do this by going around the ditch through the hidden passage and collect the last hammer artifact.

Artistic "Shield Priven"

The Enarms of the Priven artifact heavy shield (1/3) is the second artifact that you can find in the Revenge quest of the third chapter (in addition to the pommel of the Mjelnir hammer).

Finding this item is a little more difficult than the previous one. So, after you find the pommel of the one-handed hammer "Mjelnir" in the cave, leave it. You will have a road divided into two lanes. Keep to the left lane and take the first left turn. This path leads to a dead end, but you shouldn't go that far to find the artifact.

Here you need to pay attention to the hidden passage going up the map. The clue is hidden in the map itself, which you can open with the M key. On it you can see the very passage. It is hidden by boards and logs that just need to be destroyed. After that, get the artifact from the chest.

During the passage of the quest "Robbery in the spirit of the Vikings" in the sixth chapter, you can find the artifact shishak of the heavy shield "Priven" (2/3). In order to get the shishak of the shield, you will need to go to the left side of the map and find one of the crusaders near the water. If you go through additional tests on each map (collecting iron skulls, etc.), then this crusader will be one of the objectives of this quest. After killing him, you will receive the desired artifact.

Go to this point on the map.

The frame of the heavy shield "Priven" (3/3) is located on the location in the story quest "Hide and Seek", which is in the ninth chapter. To get it, you have to solve a puzzle with tiles and symbols near the end of the map. You can see a detailed solution to this puzzle in a separate article dedicated to the game's puzzles.

Bug. If the bug has not been fixed until now, then many gamers may not have a shield when solving a puzzle (a stone wall comes out, but there will be no shield on it). In this case, just complete the task, and then go on an additional quest, which will become available when interacting with the drakkar (boat) of the protagonist. Try to solve the puzzle again.

Artistic two-handed staff "Gyungnir"

I somehow missed the first part of the staff, but it is clear that it must be found before the passage of the seventh chapter. Surely the clamp of the two-handed staff "Gyungnir" (1/3) falls out of some mob.

The second part of this staff can be found in the seventh chapter when completing the quest "Lair of Simul".

So, being in the cave, you will find stone pillars at the top of the screen, blocking the passage to the desired chest. You can interact with these pillars, which can be either highlighted or darkened. You just need to know the correct sequence.

Perhaps, with repeated passes, the solution is always the same, but just in case I will indicate the place where the clue is located: go to the beginning of the location and follow through different rooms. One of them will have a healing bowl, a safe place (orange dot on the map) and an altar that allows you to level up your character by donating blood. When leaving this room, sticks are drawn on the walls - light and dark. This is the hint.

In my case, the solution looked like this (the following columns should be highlighted from left to right): second, fourth, fifth, seventh. Take the blade of the two-handed staff "Gyungnir" (2/3).

The third part of the artifact is the staff of the two-handed staff "Gyungnir" (3/3). Just carefully study the location during the Plain of Souls story quest. At a certain point, you will be able to leave to the right (when you are in the snowy mountains), where there is a huge Noble Rime Giant. After his death, the artifact you need drops out as a loot.

If you are a fan of Scandinavian mythology, like to carve runes at your leisure, dress in skins and build drakkars, then our today's guest will be to your taste. Meet the new "diabloid" from the Slovak studio Games farm called Vikings - Wolves of Midgard. The game quickly broke into the isometric hack & slash category, did not make a splash there, but it certainly did not go unnoticed. And why this happened, you will learn from our review.

In the story, the Viking settlement Ulfung suffered from the ice giants, who went to the next war with the gods. Naturally, the gamer has to sort out the problems, which leads the local clan "Wolves of Midgard" and becomes a local jarl. Thus, we are shouldering revenge on the arrogant thugs, providing the village with resources and sorting out relations with dangerous neighbors. In the meantime, it is far from the restoration of justice, it is necessary to rebuild the settlement, recapture the strategic reserves of resources from other tribes and show the opponents that Ulfung not only recovered from the blow, but also intends to fight back.

Long live the Jarl!

The first story missions the gamer deals with the neighbors, and only then draws up a plan of revenge and proceeds to implement it. Each task here is called a raid: the hero appears at the beginning of the map, he is brought up to date, after which a brisk sweep of the area begins. Locations in Wolves of midgard don't look like ordinary battlefields of diablo-like slashers - these are long and narrow corridors with easy riddles and an obligatory boss at the end. In addition to the main mission, the player is given a couple of additional tasks. We use them to destroy enemy totems, kill the necessary mobs or clear certain places on the map. For completing quests, the character receives bonuses in the form of three resources (wood, iron and gold). The bestiary of enemies is diverse and presents rich Scandinavian folklore, historical chronicles, as well as the imagination of the authors. There is also no shortage of geography and changing locations, so in Vikings - Wolves of Midgard players will visit the ominous snow-covered wastelands, poisonous swamps, gloomy volcanic caves, green sunny pastures, exotic islands and other worlds where northern gods live. There they will meet direwolves, trolls, tomte, jotuns, ettins, dvergs, witches, ghouls, other Vikings, warriors of King Arthur and even soldiers of the Holy Roman Empire. Each enemy received its own characteristics, skills, size and strength, and also knows how to dashingly resist a certain class of hero and is killed by more than one blow.

V Wolves of midgard gamers will have something to do between missions. For example, you need to develop a settlement, improve the buildings of the blacksmith, rune master and other important NPCs. In addition, players can participate in repeated raids on already passed locations to obtain additional resources. They are also earned in the Arena of the Gods - this is a map where the character must briskly destroy the rolling waves of mobs. And if you get tired of this, then we join the multiplayer game and, together with a partner, we clean up new locations.

There will be something to do in the inventory - to clear the place of unnecessary trash, pick up equipment or insert a useful rune into it. There is not so much loot in the game as in other similar projects, but it drops out enough to periodically spend a couple of minutes doing this. The things and weapons themselves are divided here into standard RPG gray, green, blue, purple and orange colors. They have light, medium and heavy properties and can either be sold to inscriptions or simply destroyed using a special button with a basket in the inventory.

Hit, cut, shoot, chop!

Battles in Vikings - Wolves of Midgard pass briskly, briskly and fervently. True, the first mission is boring, because the developers did not bother to endow the character with even one active skill. So you have to literally call out virtual adversaries with a standard blow. But then the level of interest goes off scale to the limit and I want to go through mission after mission in anticipation of a new boss, fresh tactics and, to be honest, further advancement of the plot.

The rides also bring agility to the battles. They are used constantly and often save lives when the enemy is in front of us on the half-screen. And it is easier to deal with ordinary mobs if you move away from the crowd in a roll, and then destroy them with active skills. Rolls in the game were given so much attention that the severity and type of armor affects their range, and in the character menu, in addition to basic statistics, the number of rolls made is displayed.

V Vikings - Wolves of Midgard no classes. It all depends on which of the five Scandinavian gods (Tyr, Thor, Odin, Skadi and Loki) the player chooses to pray. For example, to play the local version of the classic warrior with a sword and shield, you need to worship the god Tyr, and after choosing Odin, the gamer will run around with the local version of the magician with a two-handed staff. At any time, you can change the weapon to another, but the invested skill points cannot be returned, so you have to either continue playing as a non-skill newbie and gain experience again, or decide at the beginning of the game which direction to choose. Alternatively, worship two gods at the same time, and divide skill points between ranged and close types of weapons.

There are six active skills for each deity in the game, plus additional passive skills. But at the same time, only five skills and two artifacts are brought to the panel. The latter received special properties, drop out during the game or are crafted by the blacksmith. One gives health regeneration during the mission and replenishes in special places of power. The other provides a powerful offensive skill with a one minute cooldown. In addition, there are three scales on the panel: health, the influence of the elements and rage. If everything is clear with health and rage (we kill enemies, accumulate rage, turn on the berserk mode), then the scale of the influence of the elements requires an explanation.

The point is that the developers Wolves of midgard added elements of survival to the project. Each location is somehow dangerous for the hero: snow-covered wastelands - with cold, poisonous swamps - with harmful evaporation, the lands of the gods - with their own air, and gloomy volcanic caves - with the heat of lava. When a character is on such a map, a special scale on the panel is gradually filled with indicators of cold, poison, heat or harmful atmosphere. After reaching the limit of the scale, the character loses health and dies in a matter of seconds. To prevent this from happening, the player needs to quickly move from one safe place to another, along the way to destroy mobs, perform additional tasks and collect loot. Of course, the gamer will quickly get tired of being constantly in such a survival heat (after all, we are not playing in Flame in the Flood), so places with an aggressive environment come across a couple of times during the mission.

The beauty of mythical Scandinavia

Vikings - Wolves of Midgard does not shine with sleek graphics, but its picture is pleasant, juicy and does not irritate the eyes even after a couple of hours of playing. If you look closely, you can see crooked textures in places, protruding parts of the character through weapons and other similar trifles. But in the heat of the local battles, you completely ignore them. Optimization is also encouraging. The game is not demanding on hardware, it will run easily even on weak PCs, it does not sag in terms of fps and does not glitch.

The project has got some minuses. Adequate playability of an archer and a magician is questionable. The first one received a meager attack range and weak hits, so the game for him will consist of an eternal kite. For some reason, the second turned out to be a melee class and is equipped with only one long-range skill. At the same time, the local magician wears light armor, has weak defense and is killed by an average pack of mobs by the middle of the game. And his boss battles turn into hell and endless use of rolls.

There are also claims to inventory: you can sell things only one at a time and with mandatory confirmation. In addition, the creators forgot to add a place for special finds in it. During the game, the gamer collects pieces of weapons from Scandinavian myths (for example, the legendary hammer Mjolnir). But parts of it are visible only in a pop-up window at the time they were found, and are not displayed in the inventory itself. Therefore, it will not work to find out what exactly the player has already collected from such weapons.

Vikings - Wolves of Midgard turned out to be a fun and perky game in the family of imitators of the legendary Diablo. The project is unlikely to want to be replayed again, but it can easily be carried away for a couple of evenings. Wolves of midgard received a fierce fighting game, an unusual aggressive environment system for this genre, a pleasant picture and low requirements for a gamer's car. The game is able to attract the attention of fans of the Scandinavian setting, fans of isometric hack & slash and even casual players. But it has drawbacks, and the first patches have not yet fixed too obvious errors of the developers.

Who needs goblin goulash or jotun liver pate? Sounds like a retired witcher's tavern menu? But it doesn't even smell like a witcher here:

  1. Another game universe;
  2. Partly other evil spirits;
  3. Completely different heroes.

It was this "cutlet" of the Scandinavian monsters and demigods that fell into my hands. There are a sea of games about crusaders, pirates, some "Amazons" (I can include the games of the Tomb Raider series among them) and of course elves / orcs / gnomes, but the number of games based on myths and legends about the northern wars can be , probably, count on one hand and never repeat it, at least I don't remember a huge accumulation of "rovers" about the Vikings.

But alas, after a while I was disappointed.

The principle of the game itself is not new and follows in the footsteps of, for example, Diablo or other similar games:

  • Kill 100,500 monsters;
  • Find the treasure;
  • Save everyone.

But let's go through the components of the game in order and try to find a thin thread connecting our protagonist with the myths and sagas that came to us from distant fjords.

Plot

Remember how it all began in the movie "Robin Hood - Men in Tights"? At the beginning of the film there was an excerpt where the village was burned and the peasants were indignant: "Why, when they shoot a film about Robin Hood, they always burn our village?" So here it all starts quite corny, the main character returns home, but he is no longer at home.

Well, no, they just attacked the village and incinerated everything they could.

Precisely, seeing the smoking village on the horizon, the thought arose: "Damn ... I forgot to turn off the iron again, or did they decide to remove Robin Hood ?!"

But remembering that this time I am an adamant warrior and probably did not iron my armor before going hunting, and how do I know about a man who will appear in the history of mankind much later - it becomes clear to me that the manicurist is over, but for someone now it will not be sweet.

We butcher the carcass of Jotun and a couple of his henchmen goblins, find the remains of a meeting house and we are instantly chosen as a jarl - this is how in our time you can quickly move up the career ladder. Now I have to restore the village, enrich it in raids on neighbors, bring many bloody sacrifices to the gods, and most importantly - find the culprit in the deaths that occurred in my absence. Along the way, saving humanity from the approaching ragnarok.

In general, the storyline is one solid cliche - a loner who has gained power must save the world.

The character

All fighters for equality, this game will definitely delight - here we are given the opportunity to choose not only the appearance, but also the gender of the character. At the same time, both the warrior maiden and the warrior do not differ from each other (except for some anatomical features).

The main role and probably the most important decision before the start of the game is occupied by the choice of the deity and thus the choice of the class for which you will play.

Each class is patronized by its own deity. So we have the opportunity to choose from five possible classes / gods / types of weapons and abilities, which each of the aces will help us:

  • Odin is the warrior-magician God. Unlike the sagas, in the game we will be given a staff, despite the fact that the main weapon of the wise master of Valhalla was the Gungnir spear.
  • Skadi - The wife of Njord, a frosty giantess and patroness of the hunt will be a faithful companion for those who like to play as an archer. Based on mythology, bow and skis were its invariable attributes.
  • Thor is probably one of the most famous deities (thanks to the latest Marvel tapes), wielding the destructive hammer of Mjöllnir. At the same time, in the game, the class, which is patronized by the god of thunder, uses two-handed weapons - hammers, axes and swords.
  • Loki is a deceitful and cunning resident of Asgard. A descendant of jotuns, who must bring Ragnarok closer, helps those who wield dual weapons, be it two hammers, an ax or a sword.
  • Tyr - The one-handed god of honor helps players who have chosen for themselves one-handed weapons and a shield. Do not underestimate the deity who sacrificed his hand by placing it in the mouth of the great wolf Fenrir.

A strange choice of the creators of the game and so limited in the deities. Why do two of the classes on the list worship the Jotuns and not the purebred Aesir? Indeed, there are enough other warlike gods in Asgard, whose attributes could be both a bow and two one-handed axes, for example.

Skadi can be safely replaced with Ull. After all, his attributes were also a bow and skis (according to some sources, skates), he preceded his brothers and by the time they began to write down myths, many information about him were almost lost or forgotten.

How about replacing Loki with the berserker's favorite Modi? After all, he patronized those who bravely went into battle and instilled fear in opponents. Or Vidi, whose weapon was the sword, with which he would pierce through the heart of Fenrir during the battle, avenging the death of his father?

There are as many options as there are aces in Asgard, so I don't understand such a choice of the creators of the game. It is also unclear why there is only one “goddess” out of five possible options? For statistics, so to speak? Like, “Hello, girls. Here's 20% for show - Skadi. " Or something like: “So what about the dust? For those who defend minorities, we have taken everything into account - there are Ases, Jotuns and descendants of Jotuns from mixed marriages. Everything is fair! " Although here I probably wind up.

Leveling or gifts

In total, the tree of gifts of the patronizing deity has 21 skills that will delight us as the character is pumped. For those who will worship Odin, Thor, Loki and Skadi, there are 6 passive and 15 active skills. But Tyr here is a little different from his fellows and can bestow his ward with 18 active and 3 passive skills.

Enemies

We will weed out from the doorway every little thing like wolves, bats, goblins, and different types of soldiers and look at what the creators offer us as a "cherry" at the end of each chapter - bosses. I was personally not interested in all the bosses, for example, the leader of the Swanungs or the bishops, unlike the motley "demons", I was not impressed.

But for the most part, I liked the mentions of famous heroes and various mythical creatures from the stories I read in childhood.

In one of the missions, for example, we have to take his ring from Sigurd, it is in this place that the creators of the game give a reference to the cursed ring of the Nibelungs and Siegfried / Sigurd.

But there are also inconsistencies, for example Albion, which in the game is a "lost clan", at one time was the designation for the British Isles. But here you can argue, because there was a moment in history when the sons of Ragnar conquered East England and Northumbria.

Or some of the characters with Scandinavian-sounding names, not necessarily some of the mythologists, or they were completely different personalities.

Here's a small example for you: Jokul - The evil demon throwing ice blocks from the game, in fact, in the Irish sagas was a huge and skillful blacksmith. Yes, he was greedy and mistreated his wife, but he was not a demon or a giant. No information has been found that he could have been turned into a punishment for any flaws.

But everyone who will now indignantly poke a finger at the chapters in which we meet paladins, bishops and other references to the crusades and swear about inconsistencies in historical data, I will have to disappoint.

In 829, the monk Ansgar began his missionary work in the Viking trading city of Birka. As a result of the spread of Christianity and attempts to convert the Vikings to a new faith, at least three crusades to the northern countries were carried out.

Now we can even roughly determine the time at which the actions of this game take place - the first crusade is dated 1155.

Outcome

Of the pluses, I would like to note the elaborate and thoughtful locations with various traps and "dangers" adapted to the situation. So we can freeze to death if we do not find another fire in time, or if we breathe in gases, disappear in the swamps.

For "looters" this game looks like a fairy tale - additional missions are twisted around the search for all sorts of little things in the chests scattered around the locations. I am an enthusiastic "luther" and just squeaked with happiness when I realized that you can wander around so much and look for hidden treasures.

For those who have now decided that "Vikings: Wolves of the Midgard" is another mind-numbing slasher, I would like to add - for the most part I agree, but in some places there are puzzles and puzzles in the game. Even if they are not very complicated and not numerous, they are able to dilute the monotony and momentarily occupy the player's thinking center.

One of the main disadvantages of the game, as I mentioned above, is monotony. Most diabloids suffer from this congenital defect. The easiest way to play this is by sticking your finger to the mouse button and running around the map, automatically killing anything that dares to get close.

Despite my love for bearded and ferocious Vikings, Scandinavian mythology and a desire to crumble everything that is possible - for me this game has not become a "long-playing" hit. The maximum that she pulls out is passing one, two times in the "fish-free period".

But everything began so promisingly, she could become the pinnacle of my most cherished illusions and fantasies associated with the world of fearless warriors.

Walkthrough Vikings: Wolves of Midgard.

Chapter 1. Ambush on Jotun.

After creating a character and choosing his class (God), start a new game in Vikings: Wolves of Midgard, confirming one of the four difficulty levels (in our case - "Warrior"). By the way, when creating a character, you can activate the Valhalla mode - in this case, your first death will lead to the death of the main character (you have to create a new one - no saves).

During the mission, you need to kill 30 Tomte and find 3 iron skulls.

Move across the location, killing enemies. Just click on them with LMB. Use the rolls to dodge. To roll, press Space or W, S, A, D. Stamina is consumed.

Destroy wooden barrels and carts as you move through the village to collect gold and wood.

Do not rush to move through the location. Follow closer to the right edge of the screen to find the first chest with an iron skull (1/3) inside.

After meeting the first giant, keep to the right side of the map. Behind the fence near the trees is a barely visible second chest. Open it to get an iron skull (2/3).

The healing system in the game is unusual: you use one of the healing totems that you can find or buy from merchants. Each totem has a certain amount of charges and effectiveness. After you use Heal (Tab), the number of charges will decrease by one unit. These charges can be restored at the healing altar.

By the way, you will find the first such altar on the left, on the territory of the village. Use it after destroying several Tomtes. From the altar, go down and to the right to the marker. Save Heldebrand from Tomte. The man will join your squad! Just above its original location is the third chest - an iron skull (3/3).

Go to the upper left corner of the map to save Helga from Tomte. Together with the two characters, return to the altar of healing, climb the steps and go through the door that opponents previously tried to break down.

Reward:

Runa Algiz.
Blood 200.
Wood 30.
Gold 220.
Iron 7.

Chapter 2.1. Dangerous neighbors.

After talking with Welund, go to the left side of the map and find the altar. Donate 200 units of blood to level up. The character level in the game is raised exclusively in this way.

End of Yokula
Follow the gate in the upper right corner of the map and go to the desired location. So the next task will begin.

You will have three additional challenges:

Find 3 iron skulls.
Kill two Jotuns.
Destroy 10 Yokul Idols.

At this location, you can freeze. A blue bar gradually fills under the health bar in the lower left corner of the screen. If it becomes full, then you will start taking damage. To avoid this, you will need to periodically stand by the fires - they are marked on the map with yellow markers.

Idols of Yokul are marked with blue circles, chests with skulls are green, the levers for raising the bridge to the fourth precious chest in the location are black, the location of the Jotuns is light blue, the chest with an artifact is red.

Thus, destroy the idols and Jotuns, collect the skulls from the chests, find and activate the five levers and take the artifact.

Follow the marker into the cave and get ready for battle.

How to defeat Yokula in the ice cave?
The fight is pretty simple. In its first part, Yokul will create ice spheres and explode them at the points indicated on the location. You need to avoid these points if you do not want to remain frozen for two seconds.

Stand on the yellow circles periodically to keep warm. When killing wolves, do not forget to attack the throne of Yokul, on which he stands. After the destruction of the throne, attack Yokula himself, who, by the way, can go down to you and before the destruction of the throne. We recommend attacking the throne in rage mode in order to destroy it faster.

Talisman Skadi.
Rope belt.
Rune Hagalaz.
550 blood.
620 gold.
90 wood.
20 iron.

Chapter 2.2. Old enemy

In this task you have to capture the Svanung village and kill their Jarl (boss). This settlement is an impregnable fortress, so you have to work hard to find the entrance inside.

Additional mission tests include:

Search for 3 iron skulls.
Murder of 15 Hounds.
Destruction of 10 Svanung banners.

As always, the map does not show you where you need to look for all these items. And since the location is even larger than in the quest "The End of Yokula", the necessary items are very easy to miss.

In the screenshot below, you can see the designations of the test items: red circles - chests with iron skulls, blue circles - the location of the Psars (13 of 15, the other two are obvious), green circles - the location of the Svanung banners, the yellow circle - a chest hidden in the grass, inside which there is an accessory "Gusli".

As for the passage of the location as such, then you need to go to the left side. You can destroy small wooden barricades, as well as towers with archers. Here opponents will appear who actively use shields - you need to act differently against them: either run back and wait for them to open up, or wait for their attack without doing anything, or roll over to them behind their backs. Even if you decide to freeze the enemy, then do not forget that the shield will protect him from attacks from the front.

The iron gate will not open, so move on to the swamps on the left. A little higher and to the right there will be wooden rubbish, which you can destroy and get to the territory of the fortress. So get to the place of transition to the house of the Svanung Jarl.

How to kill Jarl Svanung?
The boss will not offer you anything supernatural. First you have to kill two spearmen with shields. Do this without wasting energy.

As always, it is advisable to stock up on energy before the start of the battle so that you can activate the "Rage" mode.

Warriors are marked with red circles, chests with iron skulls are green, Yarnung's banners are blue, and a talisman chest is yellow.

One of the iron skull chests is at the top of the swamp. There is a small passage inside the alcove, which is invisible in the usual location. Be careful.

As for the passage of the plot, then you will first need to get along a linear route to the gate, which, by the way, will be locked. Several strong enemies are waiting for you in front of the gate, so look for the altar of God nearby in a round square.

Go left of the gate to the swamps. After destroying all opponents, make your way to the left to climb the snow-covered hill.

Be careful here, because there is only one fire, plus the distance is long and you can easily freeze.

Get to the cave and go inside. After warning the Yarnung trappers, carefully go around the spikes and climb the wooden scaffolding against the wall in the background. Do not hurry! If you want to find an additional talisman that will be very useful in the battle with the boss of this location, then pay attention to the three glyphs applied to the wall to the right, where there is no bridge. They will need to be entered on stone slabs familiar to you.

There is an interaction point on the wall in the background - click to destroy stones and open a passage. Get to the locked door, above which you can see a four-digit code. Enter it on the stone slabs to the left.

Note. This code is optional, since you do not need the door on the right, but if so, then you will deprive yourself of the opportunity to get the Hel talisman.

Go to the opened room, take the loot from the chest, including the new talisman, and then kill the enemies.

Go back and down. You just have to make your way through the village, where there will be even more enemies. And after you a fight with the boss awaits.

How to kill the Iron Guard?
This opponent is much stronger than all the previous ones.

You can see the following designations: blue circles - chests with iron skulls, red circles - troll idols, green circles - witch trolls.

In addition, at the location you can find one piece from two artifact items - a sword and a shield.

When in the troll cave, keep to the left. At the top there will be a passage leading to a dead end. Here you have to fight one of the troll witches with a high HP reserve and immunity to darkness. After killing her, you will get the pommel of the artifact one-handed hammer "Mjelnir".

As for the part of another artifact item, the shield, after leaving the cave, go along the left path and take the first turn to the left. To the side, towards the top of the screen, there will be a hidden passage. Destroy two logs and open the chest to find an enarm from the Priven artifact heavy shield.

The passage of the location itself will not be difficult - you just need to break down obstacles on the way, kill huge trolls (using the Hel talisman) and advance to the boss.

When leaving the cave, you will need to solve a simple puzzle - using the levers on the left and right, move the lava flow to the buckets nearest to them. The stone will go up.

How do you kill Scully?

The mechanics of the fight are extremely simple - Scully either runs up and tries to knock you down, or jumps up when you are near to stun, or attacks with sweeping movements of her club. In addition, cobblestones will fall on top of you.

In addition, at the location there is another chest with another talisman, which is called "Talisman of Heimdall". It scares targets and deals darkness damage. To find it, when you leave the territory of the settlement and find yourself at the coast, then go up and to the right. Find the pier here and go to the ship, where the chest is located.

In the first case (marker on the left side of the map) you will need to kill a huge troll with more than 13,000 HP. This is not easy to do, so prepare for battle by collecting Rage Energy. As a reward, you will receive the legendary ring of the Nibelungen.

In the second case, you just need to search the fourth precious box on the map. It will contain Hoder's legendary talisman.

Based on the quest, move to the checkpoint and turn the mechanism clockwise to open the passage. Follow the goal, periodically peeping into the caves to bring down the poisoning.

The next gate will be locked and the mechanism broken. You need to find three parts of the mechanism. First go left and in the cave kill Jotun, from which the first part will fall out. Looking ahead, we note that all three parts fall out of the Jotuns (which are targets in one of the challenges). Either way, go through the markers and kill the enemies, collecting all the details.

Unlock the gate and follow the boss of the location. Grindil will again dare to check on you. Do the same as last time - attack, dodge, destroy healing totems. When Grindil is invisible, avoid the green circles while dealing with the trolls.

After winning, you will receive a reward and an anvil of the Jotuns. With this anvil, it will be possible to improve the gunsmith, and thanks to this, the blacksmith who makes things.

Upon returning to the village, a surprise awaits you - the merchant has already laid out his goods and is ready to cooperate with you.

Quest reward:
Loki's legendary talisman.
Barbarian idol.
Runa Ingvaz.
2900 blood.
9100 gold.
1300 wood.
270 iron.

Chapter 5.2. Flotnar - Liberation of the Flotnar clan

In this task, you will be asked to complete the following tests:

Find 3 iron skulls.
Rescue prisoners from 5 confinement cells.
Destroy 5 Van temples.
All these objects are shown in the screenshots below: red circles are chests, blue circles are prisoners, green circles are temples of the Vanir.

As for the passage itself, then you first have to walk along the coast, destroying crabs. Giant sand crabs are worth killing in the same way as warriors with shields.

But that is not all! At the location, you can find two pieces of artifact equipment.

Pay attention to the iron grate in the only cave on the location (not counting the last one with a portal). To open this grate, you need a key. You will find the rusty key inside the chest, which is located on the boat tied to the shore.

Destroy the pole to make the boat sail to the right. Then remove the rusty key from the chest and return to the metal grate. Click on it to open it. After killing opponents, you will be able to get the blade of the artifact two-handed ax "Lavatane" from the chest.

Another piece of artifact gear is the prive artifact heavy shield shishak. To find him, you need to kill the Crusader, whose location you can see in the screenshot below (The Crusader has already been killed, but he was in the place where the character is).

As for the direct passage of the game, here you should go through four guard posts and clear them of enemies. When the bridge is lifted, then go back a little and go to the right. Get to the cave entrance. Use the portal to move to another cave and go to the Last Arena.

ATTENTION! There may be a bug here - you kill all the mobs, but nothing happens. In this case, just go to the main menu and load the last save - it will be in front of the Last Arena. Enter the Final Arena and die at the hands of a huge troll. When you do this, the same save will be automatically loaded. Go to the Arena and this time kill all the enemies. As soon as the last mob is dead, a window will automatically appear announcing the end of the mission (you will see a reward).

Quest reward:

Legendary belt of the great blacksmiths.
Imperial mace.
Runa Ingvaz.
900 blood.
10,300 gold.
1500 wood.
300 iron.

Chapter 6.2. Sigurd's Ring

In this mission you need to take away his ring from Sigurd. Looking ahead, we note that, unlike Odin's ring, the protagonist will give Grindil this item without options.

Three challenges will be available to you:

Find 3 iron skulls.
Kill 30 whites.
Destroy 6 menhirs.
Stone structures are raised under the menhirs - something in the spirit of troll idols, etc.

Skull chests are marked with red circles, and menhirs are marked with yellow ones.

In addition, at the location you can find a secret passage to a strong enemy, by defeating which you can get the second part of the "Skadi Big Bow" artifact - shoulders.

As for the passage of the mission itself, it consists of three stages. At each stage, you will need to open a passage to the next mound. To do this, approach the overlapped transition and memorize the combination of characters (as usual).

In the first case, two stone discs will be on the left, in secluded niches, and the other two - on the right. So from left to right and set the correct combination.

In the second case, everything is the same, just there will be more of these niches.

In the third case, everything will be more complicated. You need not only remember the code combination, but also pay attention to the position of the characters in this combination. For example, if before the arrow was up, then this time it is directed down.

The same applies to stone discs - if earlier it was necessary to display symbols at the top of the discs, now the discs will be fully open and they need to be rotated so that the required symbols (in the correct order) are directed correctly.

The solution will be as follows (on the map, move from one disk to another disk from left to right): an arrow at the bottom of the disk, F at the top of the disk, X at the bottom of the disk, | X | on the right side of the disc. If you do everything right, the passage will open.

After collecting all the items, go to the Last Arena.

How to defeat Sigurd?

To destroy this boss, you have to act carefully. First, Sigurd does not leave the center circle. Secondly, when you stand on the circle, the darkness scale under the health scale begins to fill.

The first chest with an iron skull is hidden in an alcove inside the cave, behind wooden planks. The other two chests are hidden in the corner inside the wooden plank buildings on the fortress grounds. Their location is shown in the screenshots above.

There are no artifacts or legendary items in the location.

In the story, move to the forge, where there will be a gate closed by two bolts. On the right side of the gate, find the first lever, then go left, and climb up so that you are on the left side of the locked gate, at the top. There will be a second lever here.

Get to the next closed gate, go lower and to the left, onto the wooden wall. There is a ballista here. Shoot the gate from it to destroy it and open the passage for yourself.

It remains to get to the Bishop of the Seas.

How to kill Bishop of the Seas?

The fight will be quite simple - avoid the white circles on the ground, attack the Bishop when there is no protective sphere on him. The enemy does not have much HP, so the battle will not last long.

Quest reward:

Legendary mascot of Njord.
Eir's honor.
Runa Evaz.
3800 blood.
12,800 gold.
1900 wood.
380 iron.

Chapter 7.2. Simul's Lair

Use the portal in your settlement to start this story quest.

You will be asked to complete three additional challenges:

Find 3 iron skulls.
Destroy 3 menhirs.
Kill 3 door defenders.

The first chest with an iron skull is on the left side of the arena, where you will meet the first guardian door. The first menhir is also located there.

But the chest is hidden from view. Note the corner of the stone wall for a slab and a small, blue-shimmering hole. Destroy the stone slab to find the first chest. This is perhaps the most difficult of all Iron Skull chests at this level.

The screenshots below indicate the location of all other objects and objects: red circles - chests with iron skulls, yellow circles - menhirs, green circles - defender doors.

In addition, you can see a white circle that indicates the location of the chest with the new Legendary Braga talisman. He is able to lull enemies.

Finally, a purple circle marks the place where the chest with the next artifact is located - the blade of the two-handed staff "Gyungnir".

To get to this chest, you will need to remove several stone pillars from the path. As you interact with each bar, you turn its backlight on or off. Thus, you need to highlight the necessary stone pillars to open the passage.

Red circles are chests with iron skulls.
Blue circles - two tomte huts (hats).
Green circles - label tomte.
Purple circles - four levers to open the door. The fifth in a row indicates the location of the door itself.
The pink circle is a chest with the legendary one-handed Golden Ax.

Quest reward:

Legendary ring "Geramfil Stone".
Eyre's generosity.
Rune Hyera.
3000 blood.
16,800 gold.
2400 wood.
500 iron.

Chapter 8.2. Path into darkness

This storyline quest is carried out in order to be able to upgrade the forge and armorer to the fourth level.
You will be asked to complete the following additional challenges:

Find 3 iron skulls.
Kill 20 cave trolls.
Destroy 10 menhirs.
Unlike the previous missions, you will not experience problems with finding iron skulls, since they, in principle, are located in open locations and are not hidden under boards, stones, etc.

In addition, we will not indicate the location of the cave trolls on the map, since you will still have to kill them all. If you don't, then just go through all parts of the map - trolls will automatically appear in the right place.

In the screenshots below, red circles indicate chests with iron skulls, and yellow ones - all menhirs. Most of the problems are connected with the search for menhirs.

Please note that the menhir indicated on the map at the intersection of the upper and lower tiers is at the bottom, when exiting the arch, closer to the edge of the map.

In addition, towards the end of the location, you will notice a locked cage with a precious chest inside. Looking ahead, we note that the chest contains the "Talisman of Salt", which inflicts fire damage in the amount of 550%. The same chest with the talisman is marked with a purple circle.

If you need it, you'll have to solve the levers puzzle.

Puzzle with levers

The location has several levers that open and raise the grates. Take a look at the screenshot above for the map. On the map, numeric designations: the numbers indicate the leverage you need.

And the correct sequence of using the levers will be as follows (if you did not touch anything): first, second, run through the first to the main hall, where the orange safe zone is located, third, second, fourth. Go to the fifth lever, as the passage to it should now be open.

The task of the main plot is simple: head to the indicated place, destroy three crystals in order to go further, find the desired mob and take the guardian key from him, and then open the passage to the boss for them.

In the battle with the boss, Wild Dverg, proceed in the same way as with regular doors. The only difference is that he has stronger attacks and a significantly increased HP reserve. To wake up the boss when you find yourself on the location, you will need to destroy the crystal.

Quest reward:

Odin's Robe Cloth Armor.
Dverga pick ax.
Rune Isa.
4800 blood.
18,200 gold.
2700 wood.
550 iron.

Chapter 9.1. Albion - The Lost Clan

In this task, you will need to walk around the location, get to the locked gate and follow even further in order to bypass the fortress through the cave.

For additional goals, you will be offered:

Find 3 iron skulls.
Destroy 10 Hrafnung Banners.
Kill 15 Fenwights.

Fenwights can be found mainly in two places of the location, similar to a mound overgrown with grass and flowers with high stone slabs. There will be more than 15 of them.

If two chests with iron skulls are not so difficult to find, then the third one, which chronologically is actually the first, was well hidden by the developers. Look for him in the house to the left of the mound, up from your spawn point.

The red circles mark the chests with the skulls, the blue ones mark the Hrafnung banners. The yellow circle is the Druid, destroying which you will receive the Tyr's talisman.

In addition, you can find Tyr's talisman at the location. To do this, you will need to kill one of the Druids - the item will drop from him.

At the end of the battle, you will need to defeat a group of barbarians, and then the imperials with shields. They must be handled carefully, as they inflict enormous damage up close. As soon as you destroy them, you will have to defeat King Arthur. Basically, here you just need to dodge in time, avoiding his powerful attacks, and then counterattack. Opponent has resistance to stun.

Quest reward:

Fafnir's Armor.
Worn Crystal Mail.
Rune Isa.
5900 blood.
21,000 gold.
3100 wood.
630 iron.

Chapter 9.2. Hide and seek

This story quest will be quite lengthy, largely due to the huge location. You will be prompted to complete the following additional tasks:

Find 3 iron skulls.
Destroy 30 Tomte Hats.
Kill 15 Draugs.
There will be a limited number of tomte hats, as well as draugs at the location. It will not be easy to find and destroy the draugs, but if you explore all corners of this level, you will definitely come across them.

One of them is a draug warrior who will need to be awakened by solving a puzzle. See screenshot below.

There are four levers here. You need to pull them in the following order (if you haven't pulled anything before):

Lever near X.
Lever near F.
Lever near | X |.

At the beginning of the location, if you do not know that, you can go past a niche hidden by boards with a chest, inside which lies the legendary two-handed hammer "Gambantane". Its location is indicated on the map.

In the story, move to the marker, destroy the gate and kill the enemies behind the next doors. Next, you will need to make a choice which way to go. But regardless of this, you will have to go both to the cave on the shore and along the left path. If you go first by the way of Arthur, you will still stop in front of the magic gate.

Thus, talk to Mindir. Go to the indicated cave, killing enemies, and then find out that Bellatrix, according to the wizard, still loves Arthur. This love is mutual, therefore, in the event of the death of Gwinnever (aka Bellatrix), Arthur will be saddened. You need to somehow use this fact!

Return to Arthur and follow his path. After collecting all the items and destroying the ballista carts, go to the Last Arena.

Fight with Bellatrix

At the start of the fight, Bellatrix will cast a spell on Arthur. He will fight against you along with the girl. You have two options - either kill Bellatrix (Gwinnever), or attack Arthur, being careful not to hurt Bellatrix herself. You will not kill Arthur, but on his last HP, the battle will end and Gwinnever will ask for mercy.

Regardless of your choice, the storyline will continue the same way. It's just that in the first case, Arthur will be saddened by the death of Bellatrix, and in the second - because of the witchcraft magic that was imposed on him (and Bellatrix will go to your dungeon).

Quest reward:

Freya's new mascot.
Worn Crystalweave Armor.
Runa Mannas.
5900 blood.
24,000 gold.
3600 wood.
730 iron.

Chapter 10.1. Moroka with Giants - Plains of Souls

ATTENTION! In this story mission, you can find two parts of different artifacts at once, and if you were careful and collected all the rest earlier, then both of these weapons can already be made. But about everything in more detail.

You will be asked to complete three additional tasks:

Find 3 iron skulls.
Kill 30 trolls.
Destroy 7 menhirs.

As for the chests with iron skulls, we will show the location of ALL, but with one caveat: the last chest is inside the barrow, where you will need to interact with the levers. This chest is visible through a gap in the wall, but the character doesn't want to go there for some reason. Perhaps this error will be fixed by the developers later.

The first part of the artifact that you can find is the staff of the two-handed staff "Gyungnir". To find this artifact, you will need to destroy the Noble Frost Giant. After his death, the desired item will be dropped.

Note. You can now collect weapons. To do this, in the "Bag" section of your inventory, double-click on the "Gyungnir" staff. A picture of this staff should appear. If this does not happen, the game will freeze. In such cases, it is recommended to complete the mission, and collect weapons to gather in your own village.

To find another part of the artifact, namely the knob of the artifact one-handed hammer "Mjelnir", you will have to look around the barrow with levers. When you come to the pit with spikes (you will have to push the panels with the levers to make the passage further), then go to the right of it. A part of the wooden bridge stands in an upright position. Hit it to knock over the bridge and provide a passage to the chest located to the right.

Note. To collect "Mjellnir" you need to do the same. If the game freezes, then collect it after completing the quest.

The walkthrough itself is not difficult, but you will need to sweat in the barrow with levers. So, as soon as you find yourself in place, then break the wall on the left. Here, after killing enemies, pull the lever.

You will see how part of the bridge is extended. The bridge is behind the wall. And on this wall there is just a weak point on which you can hit. Do so to get to the other side (this place is closer to the healing bowl).

Activate one more lever and go along the already finished bridge. At the end of the path, a third lever is waiting for you, which pushes the plates on another bridge (a spike pit, to the right of which there is a vertical bridge - it must be overturned in order to get to the chest with the artifact).

After that, go back and go right. There will be a bowl of healing. There is a weak wall below it - destroy it. Move to the right until it stops and climb up the map. On the left there will be a turn to the bridge leading to the chest with the artifact. A little higher, in the wall to the right, through the hole, you can see a chest with the last iron skull. Take it if possible (there may be a mistake when the character cannot go to the chest).

At the end of this route, find another lever and pull it.

So you will collect the second bridge over which you can continue your journey.

At the Last Arena, you will need to fight with two noble frost giants, and then pick up the runestone.

Quest reward:
Legendary accessory "Yarngreipr".
Longbow of the Van warrior.
Rune Isa.
7000 blood.
26,000 gold.
3800 wood.
780 iron.

Chapter 10.2. Union on fire

In this story quest, move forward first. It is not a mistake that the giants do not touch you. You should first chat with a Surt representative. But after talking with him, the battle will begin - now all the mobs in the location are your enemies.

Return back to the portal to kill the giants that you missed earlier, which are needed for the additional quest.

So, you need to complete the following additional tasks:

Find 3 iron skulls.
Kill 20 fire giants.
Destroy 10 Troll Idols.

Unfortunately, I only managed to find 9 out of 10 idols. If you know where the tenth is, then be sure to let us know in the comments.

In the screenshot, green circles indicate troll idols, red - chests with iron skulls.

There is one caveat - 18 fire giants are located before the Last Arena. But in the Last Arena, contrary to all previous missions (where additional objectives disappeared when moving to the Arena), you will need to fight with two bosses - giants. They will be counted in the assignment. We will not indicate them on the map.

Moving around the location, pay attention to the various symbols on the walls. In the screenshot above, you can see the designation - a yellow circle. He points to the location with the puzzle. In front of you is a wall and four circular toggle switches with images. You need to turn the tumblers so that they form four different symbols that you can see on the walls of this location.

If set correctly, the passage will open. You will reach a precious chest that contains a legendary ring of dispersion. A very valuable and useful item!

Get to the place where the lava pit is. There are three levers on the side of it. If you did not touch anything (otherwise, load the last save), then, having numbered the three levers from bottom to top on the map from 1 to 3, click on them in the following order - second, first, second, third. A bridge should form.

After reaching the locked grate, climb the hill and pull the lever.

Kill the two fire giants and then take the Sindri Hammer.

Quest reward:

Baldr's legendary mascot.
Penetration belt.
Runa Dagaz.
7400 blood.
22,700 gold.
4100 wood.
820 iron.

Chapter 11. Battle of Karlion

In this mission, you will have to fight exclusively, but still you cannot do without additional tests:

Find 3 iron skulls.
Kill 5 Cardinals.
Kill 3 champion ettins.
At the beginning of the mission, you will destroy 3 of the 5 cardinals. After the gate opens, go through it and protect the wizard by killing another cardinal.

Returning back, you will face the Bishop of Heaven. You won't be able to kill him! All you have to do is move towards the fortress, towards the image of the head (The Last Arena). But don't be in a hurry! Climb the steps and go through the open gate. There will be several Imperials, including the Cardinal - kill him! One test completed.

Here, on the bottom right, look for the second chest with an iron skull. Go through the gate further and find the third, last chest with an iron skull, on the grass on the right (in the previous mission there was also a cart). Inside it lies the legendary crown of the All-Father.

On your way to your destination, you will also see a champion ettin. Kill him if you want to complete the quest, and then go to the Final Arena.

After the cut-scene, you will need to kill Simul. Avoid fireballs and green clouds on the battlefield. Get close to the boss and attack him. As soon as a green barrier appears on the enemy, run away and wait for him to disappear. Small goblins will periodically appear on the battlefield.

The final. The Eternal Well

Prepare carefully before embarking on this mission, as it is the last one. Remember also that as soon as you win the battle and wait until the end of the cutscene, all your progress will be half destroyed. All saves will be deleted, but at the same time your pumped character will remain.

With the start of New Game +, you will lose all collected items, but you will be able to play the character of the level where you left off.

The fight with Grimnir will consist of two stages. In the first stage, you are fighting an ordinary giant, which has a huge supply of health. Do everything the same as in the battle against his kind. Remember to get up on the orange circle periodically to keep warm.

In the second stage, Grimnir will turn into a huge, terrible monster. There is only one way to damage him in this state: from time to time, the boss sticks to the ground with his hand. Tentacles begin to creep out of the ground. You must attack these tentacles! That's the whole secret.
