Tip #1 - How to get awakening points and what are they?

Awakening skills (skills) is a special mechanic of the Black Dessert game, with the help of which you can endow your character’s standard skills with bonus properties, for example, restore (vampirism) mana or HP per hit, or give the awakened skill a new DoT effect. You can awaken a skill only when you reach level 48, but at level 48 you can awaken only one skill, and one awakening point for each new character level. That’s why it’s so important to quickly raise level 52-54 for all characters, and not just those who have new levels of basic skills unlocked for leveling up, because the more lvl you take, the more skills you’ll have available to awaken.

Before you press the skill awakening button, you will need to answer the most basic question, what are you going to get from this? Each skill has its own list of effects from awakening, they are often repeated, but there are skills that have very useful effects (for example, Valkyrie has skills that increase her damage due to the maximum amount of FP). There are also key awakening effects, for example, HP restoration per hit, which is simply necessary for every giant who uses his famous spinner, because it helps so much in farming spots.

There has long been a list of skills that need to be awakened by a particular class. But for the most part, this choice depends on the mechanics of awakening itself. If we take two popular skills for consideration: the giant's spin and the AoE skill of the tamper - both skills make a series of attacks on enemies - but why does awakening look useful on one, but not on the other? The answer is buried in the mechanics of Black Dessert itself. The effect of awakening will only apply to those skills that are not currently on cooldown. Perhaps you've already played and know that a tamper's AoE skill can be activated even if it's on cooldown, it will simply cause less damage, but a barbarian's twist has a cooldown after use. Therefore, the barbarian will activate the spinner only once, cause damage within ten seconds and restore HP for each hit on the enemy, and although the tamper will be able to activate the skill several times during this time, only the first use will restore some health to her. This is why we have to find suitable skills for awakening that have less cooldown.

It’s immediately worth noting that when you reset skill points, the awakenings remain in place. To reset the awakenings themselves, there are special items in the store that can be purchased for 60 pearls. But don’t be alarmed, if you are used to getting everything with your sweat and blood, then you can also knock out scraps of memories from mobs that can be used to reset the ability’s awakening. The reset process itself is quite simple: go to the black spirit menu, in the same place as awakening there is a second tab that displays all awakened abilities, and by clicking on the skill you can reset the awakening effect. This is extremely necessary when you didn’t get the desired effect the first time.

After reaching level 56 and completing a special quest, he receives an awakened weapon, the damage of which, thanks to the multipliers, significantly exceeds the main one. The full potential of the class is revealed from level 58. The gameplay changes dramatically. The archer receives an elemental blade at her disposal and turns from RDD into a melee soldier. Therefore, if this style of play is not suitable for you, it is better to immediately pay attention to some other class.

The skills of awakened weapons are several times smaller:

  • Awakening: Blade of the Elements. Switches the main weapon to the awakened one and back.
  • Captivity of the elements. Allows you to grab and throw away a weak mob or other character.
  • Guardian of nature. A short-term buff that increases attack speed, movement, evasion, chance to deal critical damage and MP recovery.
  • The tread of the wind. A short dash during which the character is invulnerable.
  • The Mystery of the Elemental Blade. A regular kick that can also be used when moving to the side.
  • Merciless blade. Consumes a lot of MP, but does good damage.
  • Howling wind. Ultimate awakening weapon with huge damage.
  • The shine of the wind. A short dash in combination with a strike with a blade and a dagger.
  • Wind dance. Skill #1 when farming mobs, which allows you to quickly get behind the enemy. It's worth downloading first.
  • The wrath of the elements, the trembling of nature. Not the strongest skills used during the cooldown of the main ones.
  • Combo: elemental captivity. Allows you to deal additional damage when knocking back an enemy.
  • Combo: Wind Glow. Deals an additional hit after using Wind's Radiance.
  • Combo: Wind Cry. Reinforces the “howling wind.”
  • Combo: Elemental Wrath. Another effective extension of a basic skill.

Awakening skills

To awaken the skills of your main and secondary weapons, you can use the following options:

  • Search for weak points. Accuracy +4% for 12 sec. Recover 10 MP per hit.
  • Explosive Dodge. All defense +15 for 10 sec. Recover 3 MP per hit.
  • Hurricane. Accuracy +5% for 12 sec. Reduces enemy movement speed by 7% for 7 sec.
  • Howling wind. Accuracy +3% for 12 sec. Recover 6 MP per hit.
  • Wind dance. Restores 3 HP per hit. Recover 3 MP per hit.
  • The shine of the wind. Restores 6 HP per hit. Accuracy +3% for 12 sec.

Weapons and equipment

The main parameters for an archer are accuracy and HP, so you should combine equipment in such a way as to achieve their maximum possible value. If mid-level armor is available, there is no need to get hung up on the Ajeri set and other sets of equipment “for noobs.” It is better to immediately purchase a complete set of Grunil. Using 4 items at once will give an additional 150 HP and +7 to all attacks. But this is an intermediate stage. For a comfortable game you will need a boss set.

Contrary to the hype, Yuria's bow is not the best option for this class. It is better to pay attention to the main weapons with increased accuracy when strengthened - Roshar, Krei or Asvol. As an intermediate option, you can use the Liberto bow or immediately switch to the Kzarka bow.

A bronze dagger is used as a starting secondary weapon, which increases the character's accuracy - until you get Bheg's bracers. After this, you can already arm yourself with a steel dagger or a Nuber dagger. It is better not to sharpen the awakened weapon of blue quality, which is given as part of the quest, since it “fits” poorly - it is better to immediately buy a ready-made green or blue weapon and subsequently exchange it for Karranda’s blade.

As inlay stones, first of all, you should use those that increase the accuracy and maximum HP of the character. Since our main goal is farming, pay attention to stones that increase the amount of weight carried.

The jewelry used should increase the damage done by the archer.

You can use:

  • Belt: Gladiator Schultz, Tree Spirit, Basilisk, Ancient Weapon Core.
  • Necklace: gladiator Schultz, Sekkar, predecessors, Sichil, Serap, ogres, Reyna, Seal of the ancient guards.
  • Rings: predecessors, blue coral, protector of the temple, Mark of the Shadow, Royal Ring of Sahazard (given for completing the quest in Valencia).
  • Earrings: Misuto, red coral, whale teeth, Tundra, Witch's decoration.

With an awakened weapon attack of 200 and defense of 250, your character will feel great in any situation.

Other parameters

In addition to the above, you should increase your attack speed to 5. If set bonuses are not enough, use inlay stones or food and potions that provide buffs. The speed of skills is a parameter that you can ignore: the archer casts skills quickly, and even the maximum speed of skills does not make a noticeable difference.

The character's tone is the maximum reserve of energy that is used when running and swimming. There is no point in pumping it up on purpose: you will already have to run a lot.

Strength is a parameter that increases the amount of weight carried. If you do not plan to buy a special item in the store, you will have to increase the strength additionally. It is best to use seaweed for this, which can be collected in huge quantities in the waters of Epheria.

Health increases maximum HP. To be healthy, your character must eat regularly. Get ready to learn cooking: this will allow you to prepare set meals that will quickly improve your health.

And one last thing. To ensure that your archer does not fall from any poke, her resistance to knockdown and rollover must be at least 50. To increase this parameter, use the Valuable Malachite (Fortitude) inlay stone, which is inserted into a free shoe slot.

Strengthening an archetype in any online game is a top priority. In Black Desert, weapon awakening helps a lot with this for each individual class. Methods of activating weapons

In Black Desert, weapon awakenings are similar for each class, but at the same time different. First, you should know that this gameplay element adds a second slot to the hero, which can be used at any second.

To begin the process, you must reach level 56 with any class. After this, you should turn to your eternal assistant - the Black Spirit. This mysterious character has evolved with the player for fifty levels in a row, and it is he who ensures the awakening of weapons in Black Desert. For each archetype they are called differently: “Goyen Mercenaries”, “Princess of the Land of the Dead”, “Chilling Force” and the like. The duration of the chain is the same for everyone. It is made up of seven main tasks and three additional ones. In the process, the hero activates the weapon and learns about all its qualities.

What does awakening give?

As mentioned earlier, weapon awakening occurs differently in Black Desert. A wizard, for example, activates two elemental spheres from an additional slot and uses them to deal huge damage with spells. Activating a second weapon does not replace the main one. The character just switches between two types at the right moment. Some classes use an additional gun to change the type of combat. The archer goes into close combat and fights there at the proper level, and the warrior suddenly switches from defense to an aggressive style of attack. Let's look at what exactly the characters get using a specific example.

In Black Desert, awakening a kunoichi weapon means for this archetype the acquisition of a chakram called Ha Reyun in an additional slot. This deadly circular blade of impressive size is used in close and medium-range combat and has an arsenal of skills that hit the target with enormous force. The kunoichi launches it into a circular flight or directs it between opponents. It is used, as a rule, against the numerical advantage of enemies, but can also be used to cause targeted damage. Tanchu is considered the most dangerous skill. This is a circular flight of chakram with a chance of immobilizing those it hits. When facing this enemy with an awakened weapon, you should choose a defensive stance, quickly get close, or deal ranged damage.

Tip one - How to get awakening points and what they are all about

Awakening skills is a special in-game mechanic that allows you to give your character’s standard skills additional properties, for example, restoring HP or MP per hit or imposing DoT effects. Awakening becomes available to players upon reaching level 48, that is, at level 48 you can awaken only one skill, and in the future, every 1 level will give you the opportunity to awaken another skill. Largely because of this feature, taking levels 52-54 is critical not only for classes that have new levels of basic skills, but also for everyone else, because the higher the level, the more skills you can awaken.

Before awakening any skill, answer the most important question: what do you want to get? Each skill has its own list of awakening effects, often they are duplicated, but some useful effects are found only on certain skills (for example, increasing damage from the maximum number of FP in some Valkyrie skills). Some awakening effects (like restoring HP or MP per hit) are key for farming and simply a must-have for some classes, such as the notorious vampiric on the giant spinner.

Tip three - About mechanics, or how to choose the right skill

The list of skills required for awakening has, for the most part, already been compiled by players with experience in Korea. But in general, this choice was determined by the very mechanics of how awakenings work in the game. I’ll try to explain with an example, the giant’s spin and the tamer’s aoesh are both AoE skills, both deal a lot of hits to the enemy - why on one awakening (instant HP recovery: 4) is extremely effective, and on the other it is absolutely useless. The answer lies in the mechanics; the awakening effect only works on skills that are not on cooldown. As you already know, the same Tamer can spam his AoEshka even if the cooldown for its use has not yet passed, but for a giant, the spinner is essentially a channeling skill that, after activation, works for a long time and cannot be activated while it is on cooldown. So it turns out that the giant, having activated the spinner once, deals damage within 9-10 seconds to enemies around him and, with each blow, restores HP, and although Tamer can give three of his AoEshki in the same time, only the first of them will restore some HP to him. Due to this feature and the short duration of action of debuffs and buffs that impose awakening effects, they prefer to catch them with skills that have no cooldown or with a small cooldown, which literally spam in battle.

Perhaps it’s worth writing right away that by resetting your skills with special items, you do not risk awakenings. To reset the awakening in the game store for pearls there is a special item for 60 pearls. Awakenings can also be reset using fragments of memories obtained from Ancient Relics. It looks something like this - in the black spirit menu, in the same place where you awakened the skills, there is a second tab where the already awakened skills of your character are shown and by clicking on any of them you can remove the awakening effect from it and awaken any other skill in the first tab from those provided to choose from, or the same in an attempt to catch a more beneficial effect for him.

Got an awakening. Here's a quick guide to using Lan's awakening skills (information taken in part from InvenGlobal and is optional). Naturally, these are just small tips, and the player must independently understand and determine which style suits him best.

Lan's awakened weapon - Blades of Blood. Just like her main weapon Pendulum, the blades have a slightly longer range compared to other melee weapons.
Spirit Decapitation is one of those skills that showcases the unique characteristics of Blood Blades. This is a grappling skill, but unlike other grappling skills, Lan does not have to be very close to the opponent. Lan can lock onto an enemy from close to mid range using Spirit Decapitation. Another skill is Spinning Blade, where Lan quickly approaches the target, hitting them with spinning blades.
Most Lan awakening skills are used during combat, but most skills take precedence over other skills. You should learn and gain frequently used skills first, and then gain the remaining skills if you have extra points.

Frequently used skills
Blood Whirl is one of the skills that is used very often. This is the skill that Lan spins around with the Blood Blades. With massive damage and great AoE, this is Lan's main DPS skill.
Blood Whirl is also a good combo skill because it has knockback and knockback while flying. This skill also restores HP and FP, making it even more effective.

Relentless Dance is another good DPS skill as it also has a large AoE and does high damage like Blood Vortex.
The first hit can do Knockdown and the second hit can do Knockback during a Knockdown, so Lan can do a good amount of knockback and push the opponent away. Relentless Dance is a good skill to use in the middle of a combo rather than at the start of a combo. The damage will be reduced while on cooldown, but you can use the skill consecutively to gain more damage.

Know the Heart is a skill where Lan throws the Blood Blades forward to strike, then pulls them back for an additional strike. The skill deals huge damage and also causes Knockback and Knockdown effects in PvE. This is also a viable skill in PvP because it has resilience. Heart's Knowledge can be used as a standalone skill with quick slots, or as a combo skill while using Blade Frenzy and Spinning Blade.

"Flow: Tears of Blood" is activated by RMB after the second hit of the skill "Tears of Blood". Flow: Tears of Blood has a short animation and can deal massive damage with a 100% critical strike chance. It can be used as a standalone skill if you use a skill with quick slots.
However, it is recommended to use Combo: Bloody Tears after Bloody Tears or other skills because it has knockdown knockdown and low attack. Use other skills to knock down enemies first, then use Flow: Bloody Tears to deal more damage. The skill also has persistence.

Skills that are used less often
The skills listed in this section are not as important as the skills in the previous section and often cannot be used as independent skills.
"Rotating Blade" is a skill that will allow Lan to quickly approach the target. It also provides HP recovery per successful hit and an attack speed buff. After approaching the target with the first strike, Lan will quickly hit the target. When hitting an enemy, the effect will be Stunned.

Flow: Death Walk is a combo skill that follows Death Walk or Heart Pierce. This is a skill that can help Lan increase her overall damage, not a main DPS skill.
Promenade of Death can inflict Sap and Flow: Promenade of Death can inflict Nodown. These two skills go well together. When you connect from Heart Pierce, you can simply hold LMB + RMB to use Combo: Death March. Heart Pierce and Flow: Death March have a similar spell length, so it is highly recommended to use Flow: Death March after Heart Pierce. Blade Frenzy is a skill where Lan throws his Blood Blades forward and spins them around. It is usually used to finally finish off an enemy who has little HP left. The AoE is not particularly great because the skill only targets the enemy who is in front of Lan. However, when the skill is used with Black Spirit's Rage, the AoE is greatly increased and Lan can deal massive damage in a large area.

Spirit Decapitation is a grapple skill that can grapple enemies from close to mid range. Since Lan can lock onto enemies from mid range using this skill, it is used to start combos. The skill is most often used in PvP. When Lan makes a successful hit on a target with this skill, he will pull the target and then knock him down. After pulling the target, Lan attacks again, making a downward attack.

"Blood Whirlwind" is one of Lahn's main DPS skills. Crit chance hit +20% and attack speed +4% will increase overall DPS.
Relentless Dance can be used even while the skill is on cooldown, so you can continually gain an extra buff. Getting additional HP recovery effects will increase survivability, while getting hit will increase DPS.
