How to start playing Dota 2 better. How to properly play the first half of the game in Dota 2

I give you 90% of the fact that if a player does not know how to play Dota, enters a game, he ruins it, or simply leaves the game from a lot of mates in his name. And how do you gain experience if you go into the game to learn how to play, and they send you to hell?

This is what we are going to do now. If you first encountered Dota and do not know the basic rules of the game, then I highly recommend reading the article "". Thus, you will have a complete understanding of the game and what you need to do in it.

Those who are already familiar with the rules of the game may not read the specified article.

Well, now let's go directly to teaching the game. It is better not to rush to play with other players, since you will not learn much there (at first). Start with bot games. So you will quickly get used to the game, deal with the purchase of artifacts, their location, types of heroes, the map, and so on. Bots will not scold you and say hello to your mom, which is a huge plus for newbies.

Once you feel more confident with bots, start exploring. There are many opinions on this, such as what guides are for noobs, why read them, and so on. I disagree with this, but it's stupid to always listen to the guide and always do what is written in it, in Dota you need to improvise, experiment and adapt to different situations.

To be honest, when I already had a more acceptable experience of the game, for the sake of interest I decided to read the guides. It is clear that I knew 95% of the information written in the guides, but I did not know some very small nuances, and began to understand only after studying the guide. True, guides can be written by very weak players, advising completely unnecessary artifacts and poor game tactics, but in any case, you will get acquainted with the skills of the heroes, the main artifacts intended for them, in what sequence to study their skills, and so on.

After that, you will have the first knowledge base, now you can safely start the game with other players. It doesn't matter if you play badly or well, your skill in the game will increase as you got your first skills in the game and now you need to improve them.

Just never forget that Dota is a team game, here you need to play as a team alone. You can't win all the games, although there are times when your team plays very badly, and you pull them out and at the end you still win (very nice feeling ).

But where to play Dota?

There are many different platforms for playing Dota.

The most popular are:
1. Garena.
2. iCCup.

These are the main two platforms where most Dota players play. Dota 2 is played through, and only through, it is considered its main platform. Players from all over the world play there, as well as on Garen. Aikap is played mainly by players from the CIS countries.

There are also many smaller platforms such as RGC, Alkar, but for beginners it is better not to meddle there because more experienced players play there and it will be oh so difficult for newcomers there, all the more it is necessary to know English more or less there, since the bulk of the players are from abroad.

Now you need to play and develop your playing skills. I think iCCup is great for playing and striving to play better. There is such a system of points called PTS, when the team wins the game, they get points, when they lose, they lose them, that is, winning you will rise in rank, and losing to stay at the very bottom. As you climb higher and higher in rank, you will play with more experienced players and will be able to learn new tricks and techniques of the game.

There is something similar on Garena, only there is a level and it rises from the fact that you just play in Garena, but this is worse, since in any case the level will rise, no matter whether you lose or win. By the way, recently there are a lot of programs that allow you to quickly raise the level in Garen, which means that even at the maximum level you will meet very bad players, since they just used the program.

Speaking of programs, in Dota now they like to use cheats, on Garen it is a common thing, so you will have problems with that. Aikap has a good defense system, so there are almost no cheaters there and you will play with the confidence that they are playing fairly against you.

Never use cheats, real players will never do this, especially in normal tournaments and championships, it is simply prohibited.

When you get even more experience with the game, you can start studying different literature. For example, what is creeping, timing, warding, runes, and so on.

You can also watch streams (online broadcasts) of professional Dota players. You will be able to observe their game, their ability to assess the situation, see what items they collect, and so on. It is very good if they themselves comment on the game, and do not turn on background music and play.

And the last stage of training is when you have studied all the literature, you know all the possible assemblies for the heroes, you completely know how all the skills of the heroes, all the techniques and combos in the game work. After all this, you just need to play, play and play, your skills will develop on their own, the main thing is that you understand what you are doing, and the reaction is developed over time. You need to concentrate and fully understand what is going on in the batch to get the most out of it.

Do not be discouraged if you play well and the team fails you, in any case you gain experience and use it in the next game. In Dota, the skill of the game is basically everything (90%).

I hope this article helped you, and you figured out a little with this issue. Dear friends, I wish you good and colorful games, fewer crayfish in the team, play, win and become professionals.

Always your Vampire.

Dota 2- continuation of the famous multiplayer game, which is very popular among many fans of mythical battles. The essence of the game as a whole is no different from the first part. The plot is outrageously simple - one team of players engages in battle against another team of players. The task of each of them is to destroy the opponent's base, while there are many different kinds of nuances that simplify or complicate the overall task. That is why this article will consider the answer to the question as to whether how to learn to play Dota 2.

A few simple rules for beginners

  • Playing against people. It is best to start playing against people, so you will quickly get into the picture, because bots act completely differently than people, moreover, you can stupidly watch how more experienced colleagues behave and take an example from them. If you have a familiar doter, then invite him to a computer club - to run together, in this case the training will be greatly accelerated.
  • The emphasis should be on heroes, not heroes. Many novice players wanting learn to play Dota 2 make a huge mistake - from the very first seconds of the gameplay they are trying to destroy the rival hero. In no case should this be done. Focus your attention on creeps - strangers and friends. Killing an enemy mob - you will receive a certain amount of gold, finishing off yours - reduce the experience gained by the enemy player.
  • One for all and all for one. Dota 2 is a multiplayer game, and therefore you need to act accordingly. You should not try to prove something to someone, you play as a team, and behave correctly. That is, you need to act together, only then there will be a result, as in such a sports game as football. As one famous person said - Argentina has Messi, Portugal has Ronaldo, Spain has Torres and only Germany has a team. In the game Dota 2, this principle works 100%.
  • Don't get hung up on one hero. There are many of them in the game, and each has its own advantages and disadvantages - the balance of the game is equal, but they can surpass the rival discord. Having studied at least briefly each character represented by the game, you will know what he can do and what he is “afraid” of. That is, in the future you will be able not only to play for him, but also against him. There is no need to rush, each character needs to be given at least a few game parties.
  • Correct purchase. In addition to the fact that each hero has his own "technical" features, he also needs a separate set of all kinds of things that are sold for the gold earned. Moreover, most of the good clothes are typesetting. To assemble one of such sets - you need to know what is included in it, it takes a lot of time to study the relevant information, so it is more advisable to study game recipes outside the game - by looking at various kinds of guides and instructions on thematic blogs and forums.

What else?

It only remains to add that learn to play Dota 2 will not work in a day or even a week, regularity is important in this matter. You need to constantly hone the features studied in theory in practice, this is the only way you will achieve what you want. And, of course, you need a desire, without it you won't be able to reach your goal, as in any other niche or industry.

Hello, dear readers, today we will tell you where to start and how to play Dota 2. Teaching everything at once in one article is, of course, unrealistic, but it is quite possible to talk about the basics and give useful basic advice.

Let's start with the menu. After Dota 2 switched to a new engine, the menu has changed a lot and you can easily get confused in it.

Menu

When you enter the game, you see the main page, there is a little bit of everything on it. In the middle, the main news, and below them is a chat where you can chat with your friends or team. Your profile is shown on the left, and below it is a list of your Steam contacts. To the right of the center, statistics in the last game and friends' news (their achievements or just their statuses) are shown.

You may have noticed 5 tabs, what is there?

  1. The first tab is "Heroes" and, accordingly, you can see there all the heroes of Dota 2. All of them are located in the table, which is divided into 3 parts: strength, dexterity, intelligence. Below the table you can see filters that will help you sort them and choose the one you need. Filters such as Carry and Support have 3 priority levels each. Previously, there were more different filters for the character, such as: Tank or Initiator, but in Reborn it disappeared somewhere. Further, if you choose a hero, then you can immediately try it out with bots and cheats.
  2. Next, there is the "Store" tab, and this is not the store that is in the game itself. Items purchased here will be for beauty purposes only and will not change anything on the battlefield. Here you can buy items or a whole costume for a hero, or buy a chest, from which only 1 item from a set can drop. Sometimes they sell passes to tournaments, for example: The International, or they now sell Winter 2016 Battle Pass.
  3. In the third tab "View", you can watch live matches, tournaments, perhaps some of your records. The live broadcast is very interestingly implemented, from the menu you can see only the statistics of the characters and their movement on the map, but if you go to the viewing itself, then you will be shown absolutely everything. You can see all the units on the map and the full statistics of the heroes, up to the fact that you can see how much gold and experience was received at a certain minute. And on top of all this, you can include a commentator who will clearly and clearly explain what is generally happening in the game.
  4. "Learning" is a very important tab for all newbies. If this is your first time in Dota 2 and do not know what to do in the game in general, then you should definitely go through the training. There are 3 types of practice: learning the mechanics of the game, training matches and just matches with bots.
  5. The last tab of the "Game Library", which presents all the modes created by the community. Custom games are the main difference between Dota 2 on Sourse 2 and the Sourse version. Before the major update, they were not officially in Dota 2, although they could be played through third-party programs and sites, but no one knew about them. In the current version, custom modes are an integral part of Dota 2, the same feature that distinguishes it from all MOBA games.

What are custom games?

They are all different from each other, but one thing we can say for sure - they will not be bored with them! It has everything: classic Warcraft, fighting off waves of zombies, creep races, ship battles, and this is just the beginning. Any gamer can create and upload mods on Steam, because it's completely free. The only problem is that writing the game mode itself is not easy enough, there is little documentation on this topic, and the very language in which all this is written is not easy, but you can always learn it.

Also more recently, Valve decided to support such developers and created the Custom Game Pass program. Now, in some especially popular modifications, their own shops with donation may appear, the money from which will go into the pockets of the creators of the regime. Well, we hope that it will not work like with paid mods for Skyrim and this whole system will work properly.

Directly to the game itself

Scrolling through such different tabs, you might have noticed something the same in them, namely the "Play" button. She never goes out of sight. After clicking on it, a list of online game modes will open, start searching and you can continue going about your business, because the menu does not overlap the tabs. You can find or create your own lobby, but if you play through the lobby, the game will be counted as a regular practice. There are also two trainings with bots, regular and rating.

There are 2 types of rating, group and solo. If this is the first game, you will have to play 10 calibration games to get a rating. Further, there is already a pumping of your rank, for each game won you will be given 23-26 points, and the same amount will be deducted for a defeat. It happens that a gamer leaves the game and if he does not return, then after 10 minutes his rating is taken away, and for some time it is forbidden to play in some modes.

Modes

There are many game modes in Dota 2. Each is interesting in its own way. And now we will describe each mode in order:

  • The most popular and simple one is All Pick. Each player chooses any character for himself.
  • Ranked All Pick is almost the same as All Pick, only the teams choose 1 hero in turn and the player has the right to re-select, only for some time.
  • In Single Draft, the player is given a choice of only 3 random heroes: strength, agility and intelligence. A very good mode for those who have already played Least Played for a while. Let's say you already have some worked-out heroes, but the mode does not give you the opportunity to play for very often chosen characters. You have to constantly choose something new, improving your skills on various characters.
  • All Random. Each player gets a random hero that can be re-selected, but again in a random way.
  • Random Draft. The game randomly chooses 50 heroes and the players take on a character one by one.
  • Tournament mod, Captain's Mode. Each team has a captain, who is chosen at the beginning of the game. His task is to recruit heroes to his team and ban some for selection. All this happens alternately and in a certain sequence. First, 4 bans (prohibitions) by 2 per team, then 4 picks (choices), etc. This mode is best played with a full roster, 5 people, because when choosing characters, the captain must listen to the opinion of each player.
  • Captain "s Draft. The only difference from Captains Mode is that not all heroes are given to choose from, but only 27 random ones, 9 pieces of each characteristic, as in Single Draft.
  • Reverse Captain's Mode is the same as Captain's Mode, only the captain chooses heroes not to his team, but to the enemy.
  • Limited Heroes is very good for newbies. Everyone is given a choice of 20 of the simplest characters especially for those who are just getting acquainted with Dota 2.
  • In Mid Only, only center lines work, creeps on other lines will not move. The mode is distinguished by the fact that you can choose the same characters.
  • 1vs1 Solo Mid, as you might guess, the fight is 1 on 1. The conditions of defeat are either to fall 2 times, or to lose one tower. You can give up earlier by texting gg.
  • Still crude, All Random Deathmatch mode. At the start of a match, each player gets a random hero. Further, after each fall, the hero changes to a random one. Items, gold, level do not disappear and this is not entirely correct, as it may turn out that you have a hero with gold, experience, but items that are useless for him. Each team has 40 falls in reserve, after the counter is equal to 0, the match is over.
  • The most interesting thing remains - Ability Draft or simply the most fun thing in Dota 2. You are given a random hero, then the players take turns choosing 4 abilities for themselves, and you can take whatever you want. In each match, you can create a unique hero, while playing on the same assembly a second time will be almost unrealistic.

Choose your mode or try everything in turn. We have no doubt that you will especially like some mode, but if you still don't find anything special for yourself in them, there is always a game library. We believe you have already mastered everything regarding the launch of the match, it remains to find out what kind of heroes are waiting for you there. You can find out about them in the next article.

This concludes our small guide. Subscribe to blog updates and share this article with your friends on social networks. Goodbye to everyone.

If you are going to start playing Dota 2 or have recently started, but something is not working out for you, then I recommend that you read this guide. In it you will learn how to play Dota 2 for a beginner: how to choose a hero for yourself, what to buy at the beginning of the game, and much more.

I will warn you in advance…. The guide will contain a lot of terminology that is not clear at first. Don't be scared or try to memorize it. I brought it here so that you can always come back and see the meaning of incomprehensible words and expressions heard in the game.

How to play Dota 2 for a beginner? Start with learning!

Today, there are educational, introductory missions in almost every game. In my opinion, Dota 2 is a rather difficult game, so I recommend that you accept the offer to complete the tutorial at the beginning of the game. Even if you've played games like this, you can still learn about some of the unique mechanics of Dota. If you missed training for some reason, then you can always find it in the “Knowledge Base” section.

If you are a complete beginner, then I recommend that you take a short break from reading the guide and go through this training. This will help you to better assimilate the information presented here.

How to choose a hero?

How to start playing Dota 2? To begin with, be sure to choose one or more heroes and learn to play only on them. Gradually, you will definitely expand this list, but now it is better not to do this.
At the moment, there are 116 heroes in the game and, of course, we will not understand all of them. To do this, we will use the filters that are in the Dota itself and select a hero for you.

Hero difficulty

First, select the "Heroes" item in the upper area of the main menu. Immediately click on the difficulty section. Thus, we will eliminate at once half of the heroes that are too difficult for beginners.

You could also pay attention to the indicator under this filter. The more it is painted over, the stronger the hero will be in this category. For example, by choosing "Support" and strengthening the filter to the extreme mark, we will leave the heroes, whose abilities are maximally aimed at supporting. This option should be used to remove the surplus of heroes. Of course, we leave the difficulty of the heroes at the first mark (the lowest difficulty).

Base (crust) and support (supports) heroes

To the left of “Difficulty” there are 2 more filters: “Farm” and “Support”. Choosing from these 2 paths will be our first fork.
Having chosen the first one, we will leave the so-called core heroes, their task is to farm as much gold and experience as possible, killing enemy heroes and creeps. If you have chosen this role, I highly recommend that you first spend your free time in this workout:

The heroes of "Support", as the name implies, are obliged to help the core-heroes. They can both heal or strengthen allies, and weaken, stun enemies. Also, one of the support heroes must buy at the beginning of the game courier and arrange wards throughout the game, giving visibility across the map.

Ranged or melee

To the right of "Difficulty" there are melee and ranged filters, I think everything is clear here. Beginners usually prefer ranged combat, because it is somewhat simpler, but I do not advise you to get too hung up on this. Melee heroes are just as good and do a great job with ranged heroes.
Now let's move on to the filters in the top row.

Fast damage

This option filters heroes according to their damage rate. As for me, not a very important filter. However, if you have any preferences in this area, then feel free to use it.

Control

Will show you characters that have strong stuns (stuns), aggro and the like. Suitable for those who like to interfere with their opponents' actions.

Forest

Shows heroes who can farm in the forest from the first minutes. The current conditions in DotA are not favorable for foresters, but in the next patch, this may change. Thus, you can also skip this filter. Anyway, while the 7.19 patch is still valid.

Persistence

Heroes with such filters have a large amount of armor or strong magic resistance. In addition, they always have some kind of ability that helps them survive as long as possible in a fight. The choice for those who like to feel like a tank.

The escape

If you like using heroes who can quickly leave the battlefield, use this filter.

Siege

On the way to the enemy's throne, we have to face the need to destroy the enemy's towers. Of course, any hero and even creeps can do this. However, heroes with this filter destroy towers especially quickly and easily.

Initiation

As for me, this is a little difficult thing for a simple beginner. These heroes are great for breaking the dreary throwing spells and starting a real carnage. If you feel good about the battle and know when to start a fight and lead your team into battle, then use this filter.

Line selection (line / lane)

There are 3 lines in Dota 2: mid, hard, hardline, and easy, easy. Lane selection is one of the most important decisions in the game. Usually players discuss who will go where during the hero pick. Since you will need to make this choice too, so now I will describe their features a little.

Meade (center line)

This is the line on which you should mainly rely only on your own strength. Here you will not have a reliable support that will protect you from the enemy, however, the enemy is deprived of such support either. Sometimes, nevertheless, someone can come here to send the enemy mid lane to the next world. However, 90% of the time it will be a 1v1 duel between cores. Also, midmen are called 2nd position players.

Light line

It is located at the bottom of the map (bot) when playing for the light and at the top (top) for the dark side. Usually there is 1 core (the carry does the most damage by the end of the game, 1st position) and 1 support (5th position). The task of the core, as always, is to get the maximum gold and experience for killing creeps and heroes. The support can, in addition to guarding the carry, also make bends or stack creeps (it is better to read separate guides about this). Usually it is the position 5 support who buys most of the wards, couriers or dasts throughout the game.

Offline (hardline or offline)

There are hardliner (3rd position) and 2nd support (4th position). The task of the hardliner is to interfere with the enemy's crust as much as possible, while finishing off creeps as much as possible. Thus, a hardliner is a cross between a support and a core, although sometimes it even becomes a full-fledged core. The local support must also focus on keeping the core away from farming. If necessary, he also makes sorties through teleportation to other parts of the map.

Choosing a guide for a hero

Now that you have chosen a hero and decided on the line, go back to the hero on which you will play. Be sure to select a manual created by more experienced players before playing. It will help you with the initial purchase, the order of pumping skills and the choice of talents. You should not choose the standard Valve guides, they are frankly outdated and require updates. By the way, you can choose a guide in the middle of the game, but it takes time, so prepare in advance.

Game search

You should not immediately start playing against people or play various mods. The first 50-100 games play with a team of people against bots in All Pick mode. Remember that if you leave matches with real people, you will receive penalties for finding games.

If you know that you may have to leave the game, you can simply create a game exclusively with bots. Little by little learn the skills of the heroes playing for and against you. Once you feel that you recognize most of the heroes playing on both teams, you can start playing against people a little bit.

Introduction

This guide is intended for beginners and experienced players may seem too simple, but still I want to help people who have just started playing a little to understand some of the intricacies of the game. Also in this guide I will analyze the main mistakes of beginner players.

This guide contains:

1. Introduction

2.Correct farming

3.How to use TP (teleportation scroll)

5 correct gank

6. A few words about choosing a hero and artifacts for him

7 what is ss and how to name lines correctly

8 Conclusion

All figures given in the guide are approximate (except for the time of the appearance of creeps and runes) and are only needed for beginners to grasp the meaning of what is written. For information accessibility, there are many examples in the guide.

Correct farm

Many novice players make mistakes when farming on the lane, they don't bother to finish off creeps (they just hit them with an auto attack), you can't do this, you need to deal only ONE hit on a creep - the last one. If you don't, then you just lose about 45 coins for each creep. Also, my newbies have a question - why can't you just stand and beat the creeps? Because then your creeps will quickly move under the taurus (tower) of the enemy, and you will not be able to farm under the enemy tower.

Also, almost all novice players put the priority of killing a hero higher, finishing creeps, but for killing an enemy hero you will receive about 250, which is practically equivalent to killing 5 creeps (professional DotA players can kill up to 700 enemy creeps in 50 minutes of play, and now count How many heroes do you need to kill in order to farm the same amount of money?), so instead of climbing under the enemy tower at the initial levels, shouting: "I'm a dad!" it is better to stand and calmly match the creeps, of course, if there is an opportunity to kill the enemy hero without huge risk, then you can try.

And even more, while standing on the lane with the enemy, you can use the skill as much as possible, since mana will be restored while you are standing and farming, but your opponent will most likely be very enraged that he has to constantly spend money on tango and ointment (restoring lives). Of course, I do not recommend spending all the mana as it may be useful to you.

The first creeps appear after the start of the countdown, and then every 30 seconds.

The first forest creeps appear at 30 seconds, then at 1 minute and then every minute (30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes, etc.) Not all heroes can farm in the forest, but only those who are allowed by their skills (abilities) .For instance , , , , . .

How to use TP (teleportation scroll)

Many beginners buy a teleportation scroll in order to simply return to the lane (yes, this method can be useful if you need to quickly move to some part of the map, for example, to help allies in the batch), but I would recommend taking the scroll with you to the lane as it can save you from ganking (killing) p. s if you notice that the enemy team will head to your lane and you there, completely alone, can quickly teleport to the base.

Many beginners very often forget to monitor the appearance of the rune, but it can save you from a gank or, on the contrary, help you kill an enemy hero.

Here are a couple of examples:

1. Enemy heroes are chasing you and you have little health. In such situations, such runes as regeneration, hast (speed), and invisibility (invisibility) can help.

2. Also, such runes as DD (double damage), illusions (creates two of your copies), hast and inviz can help you gank (kill) an enemy hero.

It is especially important to counter the runes if you are standing in the mid (center line).

Let me give you an example from personal practice: I play with SF , I stand in mid and go to counter the next rune. This rune turned out to be the rune of illusions. In total, I have half my mana and 3/4 lives. I take the rune into the bottle and use the rune. Then I myself, with 1 illusion, go to the mid lane and send one to reconnaissance to the top. Next, my illusion stumbles upon the enemy hero-lion (Lyon has an ult, no brain). Lyon, seeing the beaten SF-a, does not hesitate to use the ult on my copy. As a result, I farm mid full hp and mana. Lyon is at the top without ultimate, mana and brain.

The first rune appears exactly when the first wave of creeps starts to go and every 2 minutes after that (for example, 2 minutes, 4 minutes, 6 minutes, etc.).

Wards can help you track the appearance of runes.

Correct gang

Many newcomers, seeing a hero with a small amount of hp, with full pants of courage, rush to finish him off under the enemy brand. As a result, the enemy hero died and you died.

There is no sense in this, since the enemy hero received as much experience and money as you did, and if the enemy hero's allies were under the enemy brand, then they will also receive money and experience (less of course, but they will receive). As a result, you will only do a service to the enemy team. It is worth killing the enemy only if you are sure that you can leave the brand, or if the enemy is on an open area not covered by the taver and enemy heroes.

A few words about choosing a hero and artifacts for him

When choosing a hero, you need to rely on the bundles with the heroes of the allies and counterpicks to the heroes of the enemy, and not just pick any hero you like.

Artifacts should be bought by matching the situation, and not the same ones every game.

I once did not like guides on heroes, because there people indicate in what sequence to download skills, and what items to collect, after all, these things call on the situation (although there are items that are simply necessary for some heroes) in the guides on the hero, you can read tactics and links with heroes ( also guides on heroes can help you better understand the skills (abilities) of the hero), but otherwise I recommend based on the situation!

What is ss and how to name lines correctly

SS-from the English "miSS". Means that the enemy hero has left his line and is probably going to gank (kill). "SS" is needed so that the allies know that the enemy hero has left the line and behave more carefully. The number before "SS "means the number of players who left the lane. For example, ss2 means that two heroes left the lane in currents. You should be careful, perhaps they are thinking something. If you see that the enemy hero has pushed your lane, inform your allies by writing" SS "in the chat. when you write "SS", you can also indicate which line the hero left, for example "SS mid".

Line names:

1.TOP - top line (sometimes called UP)

2.MID - center line

3.BOT - lower line (the lower line is called differently: BOT, DOWN, or simply BOTTOM)

Conclusion

I hope this guide will help beginners choose the right strategy and understand some of the intricacies and features of the game.
