Each domain in Skyrim has its own guard to protect the capital and all the villages in their domain. The guards of different domains have similar armor, the main differences being in the materials and heraldic colors. All holdings issue guards with the same helmets with a mask and a leather balaclava of heraldic color, chain mail and shields with the coat of arms of the capital of the hold.

  • Unlike other characters, whose level “freezes” when they first meet the main character, the level of the guard actually grows along with the hero’s level up to a maximum of 50. By this level, the guard becomes so severe that they can easily defeat a dragon in hand-to-hand combat, not to mention trivial bandits. Therefore, a lone guard patrolling a section of road somewhere in the wilderness ceases to cause bewilderment.

In general, the guards look out first and foremost for the interests of the property.

Imperials, Stormcloaks, dragons... I don't care who I kill

Guards- Skyrim law enforcement officers. They patrol cities and surrounding areas, ready to protect ordinary citizens at any time. The guards are not divided into castes; control is exercised by the captain of the guard. Law enforcement officers wear standard helmets for all of Skyrim, armor with distinctive features of a certain region or city. Guards also guard the approaches to cities in defensive towers. They are independent of the Legion or the Stormcloaks, but most support one side. The guards are also the main defensive force of the city in case of a possible attack. Most guards are men, but some may be women.

Guards by region

The Reach Guards in Markarth wear green armor. The armor is quilted underarmor and chain mail; fur gloves, fur boots, and a round shield with an image of a ram's head on a green background, which is the coat of arms of Markarth.

The guards of Haafingar and Solitude wear red colors. Their armor consists of leather scale armor over chainmail. Since Solitude has strong Imperial influence, the guards wear Imperial steel bracers and greaves; Along with them, the city is patrolled by imperial legionnaires. Their shields feature a wolf's head on a red background.

The Whiterun Guard, under the command of Imperial Commander Kai, are dressed in yellow. Their armor is a scaly leather shell over chainmail. The guards wear fur boots, do not use bracers, and their shields depict a horse's head on a yellow background - the coat of arms of the domain.

The guards of Eastmarch and Windhelm wear blue colors. Armor - quilted underarmor and chain mail; They are also given fur mittens, fur boots and a round wooden shield with a bear's head on a blue background - the coat of arms of the Stormcloaks.

The guards of the Rift and Riften wear purple colors. Armor - leather scale armor over chain mail. They do not use bracers, they wear fur boots, and on the shields are depicted two yellow crossed daggers - the coat of arms of the domain.

Falkreath guards wear dark, grey-violet colors. Armor - chain mail and quilted underarmor. They do not use bracers, they wear fur boots. On their shields they have the coat of arms of Falkreath - a deer's head.

Morthal's guards wear gray-green, swamp colors. The armor is quilted underarmor and chain mail, like the guards of Eastmarch, however, unlike their colleagues from Windhelm, they do not wear bracers, only fur boots. On their shields is depicted the rather ornate coat of arms of Morthal - a Celtic triskele with a poisonous green outline, turned in a mirror.

The guards of the White Coast and Dawnstar wear gray colors. Their armor is quilted underarmor, chain mail. Since the city is very cold due to the snow and winds from the Sea of Ghosts, in addition to fur boots, their equipment also includes fur gloves. On the shield is the coat of arms of the domain - the morning star.

The Winterhold Guard wear silver colors, but otherwise are very similar in equipment to their Dawnstar counterparts; the only difference is that instead of quilted underarmor they have leather scale armor. Otherwise, everything is the same - the same fur gloves, the same fur boots. On the shield is an image of the crown of Winterhold.

On Solstheim DB, in the House Redoran settlement of Raven Rock, law and order is kept by stern Redoran guards. They are considered the best warriors of this house. The guards are commanded by Captain Modin Veleth. All guards are equipped with bone armor, and although there is a variation of such armor called Guardian Bone Armor, distinguished only by a tied scarf, only Captain Veleth wears it.

Equipment

The guards in each domain wear their own uniform, the characteristics of which are shown in the table below. Shoes are usually fur boots or steel boots with guards.

The guard's weapons can be varied, but always steel. Bows - hunting or imperial.

Explanations for the table
  1. The table shows the basic price value. The cost of an armor item depends on the level of the Speech skill and related abilities.
  2. The table shows the basic protection value. The defense indicator depends on the level of the Light Armor skill and related abilities.
  3. The helmet is not available in the game.

Guards and Dovahkiin

  • The Whiterun Guard, together with Airileth (housecarl of Jarl Balgruuf the Elder), will take part in the first battle between Dovahkiin and the dragon.
  • During the civil war, if Dovahkiin joins the Imperial Legion, some guards will help him defend the city from the Stormcloaks. Otherwise, Dovahkiin will have to kill several guards on the way to Dragon's Reach.
  • If Dovahkiin decides to help the Storm Brothers during the civil war, then after they conquer Skyrim, the soldiers of the Storm Brothers will replace the guards in all cities. The system of fines will remain the same: there is one for each possession.
  • Some guards can say very stupid things. So, for example, guards equipped with two-handed weapons can say something like this: “And you and I are similar, don’t you also like these clumsy two-handed weapons?” And there’s no need to talk about the theft of the sweet roll and the arrow in the knee.
  • Sometimes they can point to some cave full of gold... and bandits. You can quickly press the action button to talk to the guard. He will scroll through random and non-random remarks, between which he will write “ map updated", that is, he will tell the hero a story about some cave.
  • They can send thugs after Dovahkiin if you steal something from them.

Quests

The task can be obtained from a soul named Jiub. Old-timers of the Elder Scrolls universe will undoubtedly remember this Dunmer from the game Morrowind (he was the first person the main character of the game saw when he woke up on a ship sailing to Seyda Neen). As it turns out, Saint Jiub wrote an autobiographical opus, the pages of which are scattered throughout the Cairn of Souls. Find all the pages of the first volume and return them to the owner. You can find Jiub in the southeast of the Burying Ground. As a reward, you will receive a unique copy of Saint Jiub's Opus and the Jiub Amulet (increases your strength reserve and carry weight by 50 units).

Page 1 - In the massive wall dividing the Soul Cairn approximately in half, find a passage in the middle. Facing him, turn right, southeast and go up the stairs. Climbing up it, you will see a page.

Page 2 - To the left of the entrance to the Burial Ground (where Valerika lives) there will be a small building with a broken Wall with the words of Power. This is the same building on which Dornevir sits. You will see a chest near the wall, and to the right of it - a page from the opus.

Page 3 - Before passing through the wall separating the Soul Cairn, turn left. You will see a tower that consists of just one chamber with a chest. Exit the cell on the other side and you will notice a building with a soul stone. After going up the stairs, you will find the opus page on the roof of the building next to the chest.

Page 4 - Face the entrance to the Burying Ground and walk around it to the right along the wall until you reach the annex. Go up the steps, turn left and go up again towards the chest. The page lies next to the chest.

Page 5 - South of where Jiub sits by his fire, there is a stone ledge. On it, near the energy source, you can find a page and other objects.

The Dawnguard are an ancient organization of vampire hunters. For many years dawnguard fought with vampires in particular with the Vorkihal clan, but for inexplicable reasons it fell into disrepair.

Now, many years later, several skilled warriors decide to restore the ancient organization, and you can personally participate in its development and the fight against vampires.

Below will be presented the entire process of completing the Dawnguard Skyrim, from the introduction to the last mission.

Beginning of the passage

It is worth noting that for the appearance of the Dawnguard and the Vampire clan it is required download the official Dawnguard add-on.

After that, gain level 10 and, at best, go through the main storyline, since during the missions you will need an ancient scroll.

Having reached level 10, go to Riften and find the orc Dorak there, who recruits for the Dawnguard. After talking with Dorak, you will have a new mark on the map, following which you will come to a hidden cave leading to the Dawnguard Fort.

On the way, you will meet another one who wants to join the guards, named Irwin.

Go through the cave with Irwin until you see a huge castle that is Dawnguard headquarters.

Next, after passing through the checkpoint, you will enter the castle, where to join the organization you need to talk with Izran. After an introduction and a little training with a crossbow, you receive your first quest from the Dawnguard called "Awakening".

Completing the "Awakening" quest

During a conversation with Dawnguard leader Izran you will receive an assignment, which is to check the Crypt of the Night Void.

According to Izran, there are many vampires in the Krypt who are looking for some important artifact there.

Once you reach the crypt following the marker, you will encounter a large number of opponents, in particular vampires and their hound dogs. In the crypt you will see the body of sentinel Tolan, who was able to kill several vampires before his death.

Not having received what they need, they kill the patrolman, and you will not be able to save him.

Eventually you will reach a hall, in the center of which you need to move the braziers correctly. To do this, move the fryers along the line until they light up. When all the braziers are ignited, a sarcophagus will appear in the center, from which a new character named Serana will emerge.

Completing the quest “Blood Ties”

The awakened Serana turns out to be a vampire from the ancient Volkihar clan, as well as the daughter of their leader, Lord Harkon. After talking with her, you agree to take Serana to her home castle of Volkihar.

Getting to it won't be too difficult, just go to the northern part of Skyrim and take the boat that will take you to the castle.

Upon entering the castle, you will meet the head of the clan, Harkon, who offers, as a reward for your help, to join him and become a powerful vampire.

If you go over to the Volkihar side, the whole storyline will change, and you will become a vampire and part-time enemy Guardians of the Dawn.

To carry out missions for the guards, simply refuse the offer and return to base without any pursuit.

Once you reach the fort, you will see that a group of three vampires have unsuccessfully tried to capture the Dawnguard base.

You can receive the next task after talking with Izran.

Completing the mission “New Order”

Now you need to find two new ones Dawnguard recruits.

The first one is called Gunmar and he will go with you only after you kill the she-bear in the nearby cave.

Returning to the fort, you will be tested for vampirism. If you are not a vampire, you can easily pass the test and receive the next task.

Completing the "Prophet" quest

This time you will go with Izran to Serana.

According to Serana, she herself wants her father to die, but for this she needs to find all the scrolls that her mother knows about. After talking with her, you are instructed to find a certain priest, information about whom Urag gro-Shubu at the College of Winterhold has.

Following the path, we come across a broken cart and a vampire with a note. Next, we clear the nearest cave from vampires and find the quest stone. To get to the priest, place the found stone on the parapet.

Thus, having reached the old man and talked with him, go together to the base, where he can read the ancient scroll.

Completing the quest “Chasing Echoes”

After reading the scroll, Serana will ask you where her mother could hide, to which you must answer “Castle Volkihar”, since that is where Harkon will not look for her.

At the end you will reach a room with a gate to Oblivion. Having found her mother's diary, you decide to go to Oblivion. To do this, you need to collect three objects in the room and decide whether to become a vampire or leave part of your soul.

Because you are the true Dawnguard then you need to choose the second option, after which you will be transported to the other world.

Completing the quest “Beyond Death”

In the other world you will find a lot of interesting things besides the main task.

Oblivion is significantly different from the landscape of a regular game, the sky there is purple, and the souls of the dead walk the earth.

To find Serana's mother, simply follow the marker that will lead you to her. As a result of ancient magic, Serana's mother finds herself behind the gate, and in order to open it, three guardians must be defeated.

Having followed the instructions, we team up with Serana’s mother and enter a huge room where a dragon will attack you.

As a result of victory, the dragon will ask for mercy and release, after which you will receive an additional cry with the ability to summon it in Skyrim. Ultimately, Serana's mother gives us one of the ancient scrolls and returns us to the real world.

Completing the quest “In Search of Disclosure”

It is at this task that many gamers stop, since here you need to get another ancient scroll. The difficulty of the task lies in the fact that you need to go through the main storyline, thanks to which you will get what you want.

Therefore, at this point you will have to stop your adventures with vampires and return to your duties as a Dovahkiin.

Completing the quest “Unseen Visions”

Having obtained the necessary scrolls, Dawnguard are faced with a new problem. The monk who was supposed to read the scrolls has gone blind, and to help him do this you must perform the moth ritual.

Completing the mission "Touching the Sky"

Now your goal will be to find the king of the Falmer, who has Auriel's bow capable of killing Lord Harkon. Before completing this task, you need to stock up on a large number of potions, arrows and other resources, as you will be exploring long caves.

Having walked quite a long distance, we meet one of the last snow elves named Gelebor.

To get Auriel's bow from him, you need to poison his brother; to do this, collect five water samples from various sources.

After this, we return to Gelebor and get the Auriel bow we need.

Completing the task “Family Court”

In the last task you, Serana, Izran and the entire Dawnguard army attack Volkihard Castle. An entire army of vampires, hounds and animated gargoyles will come to defend the castle.

In a difficult battle, you reach Harkon himself and kill him with a bow.

Eventually main line of the Dawnguard will be completed, and you will become an honorary member of this organization.

Other Skyrim quests:

Now you know Dawnguard Skyrim complete walkthrough. But the quests don’t end there, because vampires still roam around Skyrim, although not as powerful.

Therefore, you will repeatedly receive tasks from the Dawn Guard to save residents or clear out vampire lairs.

Sentinels of Stendarr roam the roads of Skyrim. Players rarely meet them, so few people think about what contribution these gloomy wanderers make to protecting the inhabitants of the northern province from evil spirits, vampires, necromancers and others.
Unfortunately, Gazebo did not develop the theme of undead fighters.
It seemed unfair to the author that the patrolmen were dressed in rags, armed with anything, and easily died in skirmishes with the enemy.

Therefore, the watchmen became stronger and acquired new equipment:

  • Sentinel armor (optional version for UNP bodies) - simple, mage, warrior and ranger, with different enchantments
  • Shining Watch Staff, heavy (hammer type)
  • Shining Watch Staff, light (hammer type)
  • Shining Mace of the Watch
  • Silver Sword of the Watch (one- and two-handed, increased damage to undead)
  • Runed Watch Sword (one- and two-handed, 10 pcs., various enchantments)

The armor has similar characteristics to the guards' armor. Weapons are at the ebony level. Since version 4.1 Dual Sheath Redux is supported.
All this can be removed from the sentinels (if you manage to defeat them), found in chests, and also created in any forge (Draugrovskoe section), first wearing the Amulet of Stendarr(so that the items appear in the forge menu).
Requires DLC Dawnguard.
The archive contains options for the legendary edition and for SE.

UPDATE 5.2

  1. Descriptions of swords and indications of effects have been corrected.
  2. Added a version of the mod for Skyrim Special Edition.

______________

Installation: place SV.bsa and SV.esm from the "1. Main mod" folder into the game's ..\Data folder and connect it in the launcher. Perhaps the sentinels will not immediately rearm and change clothes, and you will have to wait a few game days, or move back and forth with fast travel (you can also select the sentinel in the console and type resurrect, or start a new game, but this is too radical)).

Removal: disable and delete the specified files.
