Prologue

Old friends gather at a country house a year after the tragic deaths of two girls

After the video, we examine the bottle on the table. We approach the door and take the note from the table. After this, you need to make a choice to look for the others or wake up Josh.

First choice is to find the others

Press the buttons that pop up on the screen. We choose a short or safe route.

Second choice - fast route

We go down and choose to follow the tracks or follow the noise.

Third choice - follow the trail

Unlock the phone (slide your finger over the touchpad) and control the flashlight using the right stick. Along the road on the left side we find a death totem that will show us a fragment of the future. Now another choice awaits us, but in any case, death cannot be avoided.

Dr. Hill

We look at the photo and answer the questions. We choose “it makes me happy,” then we choose “yes, it happened,” and, finally, we choose that we would be afraid to stay in this house for a long time.

Chapter 1. Remember death

We play as Sam and go to the gate, there we read the note. We go to the left and, pressing the buttons, we climb over the fence.

First choice - fast

We press the button and immediately choose to jump or climb.

Second choice is to climb

To feed the squirrel, hold the joystick motionless. We walk along the path and read the sign on the pedestal. We learn about the colors of totems and find a totem with a recommendation nearby. We go further and find the inscription “the past is beyond your control.” We approach the house and find a backpack on a bench. We make a choice to watch the phone or not.

Third choice - close the bag (butterfly effect)

Chris appears, let's follow him. We shoot at targets at the shooting range. A little later a squirrel will appear, here you have to choose to shoot at it or the bag.

On the way to the house we find a “wanted” poster - this is evidence. We break into the lock and examine the “hotel and sanatorium” poster. Then we find the TV and go to Sam. We get on the funicular.

Behind Jess we press the button to unlock the door. After Chris takes the letter from Jess, we make a choice.

Fifth choice - insist and take away the letter

Emily. We go forward and find Mike, make a choice.

We talk to Emily and choose again.

The seventh choice is to insist that we won't let her go alone.

We pass to the end and find ourselves in the foyer. To open locked doors you need to find deodorant. We go up the stairs to the second floor and at the end of the corridor we find the desired room. Emily and Jessica start arguing, we make a choice.

We close the shutters and make a choice again.

After you hear the noise, go to the far side of the room and pick up the phone.

Michael searches for Jessica in the mine, and Chris has a difficult choice to make.

Ashley. We go down after Chris and switch to him. We go in and turn left. We take the photograph on the table and read the threats. You can show this note to Ashley.

Chapter 4. Devotion

First choice - proven route

We jump over the bridge. We look through the rifle scope at Jessica. We choose how to get there.

Second choice - jump down

We go down the mountain by pressing the indicated buttons.

Third choice - jump to the ledge

The fourth choice is a proven path

We enter the building and go down the stairs on the right. At the fork in the mine we turn left. we find a lift (butterfly effect). We go down, but Jessica has already died. After the video, we shoot at the enemy. We run further and climb the wall.

Fifth choice - safe route

We are trying to catch up with the enemy, but there are no cartridges.

Chris. We go forward and find a wallet on the left. We pass the double door and find traces of blood. On the street we go down. We turn left along the path and go to the smoking tree. We find the stuffed animal and examine it. Under the tree we find a pig's head. A little further we find the death totem. We go to the main road and turn right. We find a hut. Through the bars we see Josh and Ashley tied up.

Sixth choice - save Ashley

Move the lever to the right. We free Ashley and talk to our friends.

Dr. Hill

We choose: “no, that’s not true,” “who are you?”, “you’re annoying me,” “you’re real.”

Chapter 5. Fear

Mike. We go forward and go down. We move the panel and climb into the building. We go to the right and pass the grate, in the distance we find a totem. We move the barrel and climb onto the ledge. We go along the grate and climb onto the generator, and then onto the first floor.

We go forward and look into the hole. We go back and find a room with the inscription “admin”. We go left and take the camera on the closet. Through the door on the other side we go into the corridor.

Now go straight and left. We read the newspaper on the table. Again into the corridor, a little back and through the door on the right. First we go to the room on the right. We find a medical report on the table. We go further and go down the steps. Open the door on the right and take the knife.

There will be two passages ahead. First we go to the right and find a telegram on the table. We go left and go into the operating room. We examine the hand and fall into a trap.

First choice is to open the trap

We go further and examine the strange skull. On the other hand, we inspect the freezers for corpses. We find an access pass in the pocket. In other cameras there is a document and a tag. We open those doors by shooting at the lock with a pistol. We go forward and to the left, go down. We move the barrel and shoot at another castle.

Matt and Emily make their way to the tower, and Ashley and Chris encounter a ghost

Matt. The doors don't open, so we follow Emily. We find an axe.

Let's return to Chris. After the painting falls, we examine the wall under it. We take the key and go back, we see the ghost again. On the left we examine the toy house. Insert the key into the keyhole and turn it clockwise. We examine the diary. We follow Chris and open the door, go downstairs.

Eleventh choice - we say that everyone embarrassed Hannah

When Chris stops, go right. We find a stack of newspapers and go to the stairs.

Twelfth choice - we suggest finding Sam

We go downstairs and talk to Chris. Let's go forward and left. We approach the sparks and inspect the batteries. We go further and at the fork we go left. The doors will slam behind you (butterfly effect).

Chapter 7. Violence

Sam runs away from a maniac, and Josh reveals secrets

Chapter 8. Exposure

When the enemy attacks us, we do not move. We run and throw everything we find to block his path. We jump over the car and close the door (butterfly effect). Let's jump forward.

First choice - ask about the monster

Welcome to Until Dawn! This guide contains detailed information on what needs to be done to ensure that all eight characters remain alive until the end of the game. It’s easier to say - to get the best result of the passage (or good, whatever you call it), you need to ensure that all the main characters survive until dawn. If you succeed, you will receive four achievements: Smart Guy (Gold), They will live (Gold), Daughters of Nightmare (Gold) And Fearless Jessica (Silver).

A few rules to follow to get the best ending in Until Dawn

  • Josh, Matt and Jessica must remain alive by the end of Chapter 10. We will tell you how to achieve this further in our guide.
  • Emily, Chris, Ashley Mike and Sam must be in the House at the end of the game.
  • In the final scene, Sam must choose “SAVE MIKE”, and then use the “HIDE” option each time, allowing one of the characters in the house to escape. Do not use the "SWITCH" option - otherwise Sam will blow up everyone who remains in the house at that moment. Hiding from the Wendigo each time, you will wait until everyone runs out of the house, including Mike. After this, the video will start and Sam, running past the switch, will blow up the house.

How to save Josh in Until Dawn

To save Josh you need to find evidence in the twins' case. Then Josh will be able to identify the tattoo on his sister's arm. His fate directly depends on whether Sam found Hannah's Diary in the mines; if so, then he is saved. For Josh, saving himself means turning into a Wendigo.

How to save Jessica in Until Dawn

You must rescue Jessica in quick mode after she is kidnapped from the guest house through the window. Use risky paths all the time, don't forget to slide down the slope of the mountain. You will only hear about Jessica in Chapter 9 in the Mines.

Playing as Jessica, you will have two chances to save her:

  • In the first: you will need to hide, and under no circumstances run from the pursuing Wendigo.
  • In the second: under no circumstances run, but fight your way through.

How to save Matt in Until Dawn

  • Playing as Matt, do not under any circumstances attack the deer in Chapter 6, and also do not try to save Emily when she is hanging on the falling Fire Tower. If this choice is difficult for you, then we have a little advice for you: just jump away from her to a safe place.
  • If Matt tries to save Emily, he will fall down into the mines, and there he will encounter a Wendigo. He will have the opportunity to escape, but everything will depend on whether Emily gave him the flare gun at the Fire Tower, and whether he fired from it while there.
  • In Chapter No. 10, if Matt survives to this point, then his fate will depend on whether he goes ahead hiding from the Wendigo or chooses another available action to choose from.

How to save Emily in Until Dawn

  • To save Emily's life - in Chapter 8 during the escape in the mines, she needs to start the elevator and ride it up, otherwise the Wendigo will pierce her eyes.
  • If she doesn't correctly complete all QTEs during the chase, before she jumps onto the conveyor belt, the Wendigo also pierces her eyes.
  • Chapter No. 8: Next, riding on the conveyor belt to the top of the crusher, Emily has a chance to die, if she does not complete the QTE, she will fall into the crusher.
  • In the same Chapter, if Emily is bitten by a Wendigo, Mike will try to shoot her, depending on whether you pulled the trigger or not.
  • In Chapter #10, if she survives up to this point, she will again be on the brink of life and death. Everything will depend on whether Sam turns on the switch before everyone leaves the House or not.

How to save Ashley in Until Dawn

  • Playing as Chris, you have to choose who to cut - Josh or Ashley. Sacrifice Josh.
  • Later in Chapter 9, playing as Ashley, do not be distracted by the sounds in the mine coming from a wooden hatch in the floor, but follow the rest of the characters, otherwise, when she opens the hatch in search of Jessica, she will be killed by Windigo.
  • Chapter No. 10: If she survived the previous chapter, then Ashley’s fate will further depend on Sam - whether she turns on the light before the rest of the characters escape from the House or not.

How to save Chris in Until Dawn

  • When playing as Chris in Chapter #7, when he gets a gun and has to choose whether to kill himself or Ashley, choose yourself (Chris). The cartridges in the gun will be blank and you won’t kill yourself. This is necessary so that in Chapter No. 8 Ashley will open the door to Chris's house when he is being chased by the Wendigo. While running away from which you need to shoot accurately, otherwise he may die. But if you chose to kill Ashley in Chapter 7, she will not open the door for Chris, but will leave him outside to die.
  • Chapter No. 9: If Ashley heard Jessica’s voice in the mine and decided to find out everything and opened the hatch, then she dies. Chris, following her, will find her bloody hat. If he decides to examine the hatch, he will die. If he tries to leave and doesn’t examine him, he will die anyway, because... The Wendigo will grab him from the ceiling and decapitate him. If Ashley did not open the hatch, and Chris decides to open it, then he will die.
  • If Chris does not pay attention to the hatch, which Ashley had previously ignored or did not follow the voice at all, then he will remain alive.

How to save Sam Until Dawn

The only way for Sam to die at the end of the game is to move while she is hiding from Hannah's Wendigo in the House; if you move, she will kill her. If you stand still and complete all QTEs, Sam will be saved.

How to save Mike in Until Dawn

Just like Sam, Mike won't be able to die until the end of Until Dawn. Just complete all the QTEs at the end of Chapter 10 without fail. And be sure, at the end of Chapter 10, when Sam is given the choice of whether to press the light switch or help Mike, select the "Help Mike" option.

Upd. If you don’t do this, the wendigo will damage Mike and he will no longer have the opportunity to escape (run out of the house). And in this case, when Sam dies in the finale - Mike will have no choice and he will sacrifice himself - he will blow up the House. If you choose "Help Mike" for Sam, he will remain mobile (not injured by the wendigo) and not lying on the floor. In the future, if the QTE is performed correctly for Sam, he will be able to run out of the house (to be saved). If you cannot complete all the QTEs correctly for Sam and the wendigo kills you, then after your death Mike himself will run out of the house and press the switch - he will blow up the house.

First of all, we will give you some useful recommendations that will help you keep all the heroes alive and get a good ending:

  • Try to make sure that Jessica, Matt and Josh don't die before the end of Episode 10, as this will determine which ending you get.
  • During the ending, make sure that Sam, Emily, Ashley and Mike are inside the house.
  • In the last scene, order Sam to help Mike, and then click on the “Hide” option, giving the heroes who find themselves in the building the opportunity to escape. Do not click on the “Switch” option, as the girl will blow up the building in this case. When everyone gets out of the house, a cutscene will begin, which will show Sam running out of the house and blowing it up along the way.

How to keep Jessica from dying


To save Jessica, you will have to perform several important actions at an accelerated pace. So, as soon as she is kidnapped from the guest house through the window, you need to immediately run after her and point out the most dangerous routes, not forgetting to slide down the slide. The next time the girl makes herself known only in the 9th episode in the mine.


When playing as Jessica, you will have to save her life twice. The first time you should hide from the Wendigo, and not try to run away from it. The second time when the options “run” or “go ahead” appear, select the latter option.


How to keep Josh from dying

To save Josh, you have to find absolutely all the evidence in the twins' case. In this case, this character will be able to easily identify the tattoo on his sister’s arm. His life will also depend on whether Sam managed to find Hannah's diary while underground. However, as a result, Josh will become a Wendigo.


How to keep Emily from dying

If you don’t want the girl to go to her forefathers, then in episode 8, when escaping from the mines, you need to activate the elevator and go upstairs. Otherwise, you will see how her eyes are pierced. It's not a pleasant sight.


However, this is not the only condition. These may also include the following actions:

  • You must complete all QTEs in the above chase without a single mistake, which will end after jumping onto the conveyor belt. Otherwise, the girl’s eyes will be pierced again.
  • While rolling along the conveyor belt, you must again press the gamepad buttons correctly so as not to end up in the crusher.
  • In the same episode, if Emily is bitten by a monster, Mike will decide to shoot her. You can pull the trigger or save the girl's life.
  • In the last chapter, her life will depend on Sam's actions - if she activates the switch without waiting for the right moment, then the house where Emily is located will fly into the air.

As Matt, fly through the rope station and flow up the path. Matt's girlfriend will step forward, shining a flashlight on the rut. You will need to turn left, towards the cliff. There's a barn to eat here. Go inside it. Matt must trip over something. Lift the boards and take the evidence. This is the tenth clue.

Climb the stairs into the tower, and then open the locker from the wrong side. On the inner panel of the door, examine the missing person poster. This is the eleventh clue.

Activate the feeding in the tower and return to the main room. Here you can eat a printer with a green light. Use it to print out the newly minted evidence. This is the twelfth clue.

In the mines, Emily should see an exit at the top of an icy mountain. She cannot ascend there, so explore the area around this place. On the wrong side, eat wooden boards in the background. Check the hollow space (the corner of the underside of the left plank). This is the thirteenth clue.

There is no need to jump into the water in the dungeon until you have fully explored the location. There is an additional path going to the left. It will lead you to the nineteenth clue.

The twins' final clue can be found when Sam and his friend jump into the water. Stick to the wrong side. To the left of the water wheel there will be a ledge with the remaining clue. The future is uncertain and what it will be depends on your choices. Press the R1 button at any time to view your collection of collected totems.

Go back and go through the right door. Move along the corridor until you see a portrait on the left. Examine it. Evidence found: family portrait. Chapter 3. Ghosts

Go forward, you can look inside the car. Tell Jessica she wins (choice). Continue along the path, cross the bridge and follow the steps up. Throw a stone (snowball) at the tree before time runs out. Get to the house and go inside it. Examine the mask lying on the table by the window on the right side. Evidence found: an old mask. Show Jessica the mask (choice).

Leave the house and go right. At the fork, go up the path on the left, ignoring the jumping deer. Eventually, you will see a wounded animal. You can kill the beast or comfort it.

As soon as an enemy appears, run away from him. Choose one of two routes - short but risky, safe but long.

When you are asked to help Jessica or pick up the key, choose the first option (choice). The butterfly effect will work (but a little later). There is a lantern on the floor near the fireplace - turn it on, repeating the steps shown on the screen. Look inside the fireplace and place a few logs. Now you need to find matches. There are several lockers on the wall to the right of the door. Find a rifle in one of these cabinets. Just show the rifle to Jessica (choice). The matches are on the table located by the window behind Jessica. Take them and light a fire in the fireplace. Next, you can calm Jessica down or seduce her.

After you hear the noise, go to the back of the house and pick up the mobile phone from the floor. Watch the cutscene.

Go downstairs after Chris, go into the room with books. As soon as control returns to you, press this button. Since Ashley is afraid to go first, control will pass to Chris.

Follow the proven route (choice). Press the triangle button to jump over the bridge (maybe the button will be different). Look through the rifle scope and find Jessica crawling through the snow. Choose one of two options - go around or jump down.

Choice: jump down.

Press the square button to grab onto a branch. Press the buttons that appear on the screen to help you avoid colliding with logs. Jump onto the ledge (choice). Follow the proven path (choice). After entering the building, go down the stairs on the right, at the back of the screen. Follow the shaft and turn left at the fork. You will find yourself near the lift. The butterfly effect will work.

Spoiler. Jessica will be dead. You will be shown a video of you moving along a safe route. It is likely that if you slide down the slope, you will have time to save Jessica, and the plot will be changed. One way or another, the game continues along this storyline.

Shoot the head of the enemy above. Run higher, climb the wall, choosing a safe route (choice). Try to catch up with the enemy and shoot him. There are no cartridges in the rifle.

Walk forward a little and pick up a pillow-shaped wallet from the floor on the left. Go through the double doors and look at the blood stains on the wall. Go outside and go down the steps. Move forward to the door and look through the hole. You will see a stranger and his dogs. The door is locked. Go in the opposite direction and turn left to the administrator (there is a sign with the inscription ADMIN hanging above the doorway). Go into the room and move all the way to the left. Take the camera from the small cabinet. Evidence was found: a broken camera. Go into the corridor through the door at the other end of the room.

Go straight and turn left. Examine the newspaper lying on the table. Evidence found: an old newspaper. Return to the corridor, go back a little and turn right. There will be an open doorway ahead. But for now, take the only room on the right side. Examine the sheet lying on the table. Evidence found: medical report. There will be another message on the back of the report. Go out into the corridor and this time go to the end of it. Go down the steps, open the door on the right, in the doorway where the table is located. Take the knife out of the table.

Go to the back of the room, take a couple of steps to the right and you will see two passages. First, go to the right room and find a telegram on the table.
