Long Backgammon is an application that reproduces one of the different types of long backgammon on Android. There are several board themes and tiles to choose from, as well as 16 types of dice that need to be opened in matches against the AI.

Game process

As in a real game, gamers have to bring into the “house” and then “throw away” as many of their checkers as possible. At the same time, it is necessary to prevent the opponent from performing similar actions.

The range of the move is determined by throwing a “zara” (two dice). A player can perform two actions in total, one per die. Moreover, if a 6 is rolled on one of them, you are not allowed to move to a lower number. The turn also cannot be completed until all points have been spent. If the dice show a double value, the player gets 4 turns at once. The movement of chips is clockwise.

You cannot place your checkers in squares occupied by the enemy. In some cases, you can completely block your opponent’s path, forcing him to place checkers “on each other’s heads,” which will sharply reduce the number of moves available to him. However, this can only be done if at least one opponent’s checker is in front of the planned block.

Application Features

The application interface is simple and pleasing to the eye. There are statistics that track the results of all user matches. Additionally, you can look at the roll statistics, which will display which number appears most often. Other features include the following:

• several modes - together on one device, via Bluetooth, against AI or via the Internet, with a real opponent;
• there is a private and global chat;
• a system of achievements has been implemented, for which the user unlocks new types of cubes;
• with the best players.

When selecting players in Long Backgammon, the ELO rating is used. Thanks to this system, the player can always be sure that the opponent will be equal to him in skills. To rise to the top, you will need to win a series of victories, which gives small bonuses on points.

In the settings, the player can change almost any detail of the interface, even down to the font size in the menu.

You can change fonts, enable manual throwing and switch between 3D and 2D dice models.
