Programs for eve online android. EVE Online on Android - can I launch the game? Why is there no EVE Online for Android OS?

Considering the popularity of the EVE Online game and the growing popularity of Android devices every day, a logical question arises - is there EVE Online on Android today? Let's try to consider this issue in detail.

Let us note right away that there are no working versions of the real Eve for Android. This is primarily due to the high system requirements that the game places on the hardware of each player. But don’t be upset - there are many other programs for this operating system that will help avid gamers in the EVE Universe.

Is there any development for EVE Online for Android today?

We hasten to please fans of EVE Online - today we are actively developing the game for Android devices. Back in 2011, employees of the SSR Games company showed EVE Online for Android. The device was a tablet with a powerful nVidia Tegra 2 video card.

This development is the result of a collaboration between CCP Games and nVidia, as a result of which it was possible to partially realize the potential of Eva on a regular tablet. Why partially? But because the graphics characteristics of the card could not cope with the full load of the game. The developers of SSR Games assured Eva fans that this is only a trial version, very far from release, but despite this, development will continue in this direction.

Why is there no EVE Online for Android OS?

EVE Online for Android OS has not yet been developed for several reasons:

  • High system requirements. Eva will not work on every computer - what can we say about ordinary tablets.
  • Gaming capabilities. Today it is impossible to realize all the possibilities of the game on a tablet, since the functionality can only be used on a PC.
  • Control. Another significant problem is control, which in Eve is carried out on a point-to-click basis. It is impossible to conveniently control the gameplay on a tablet.
  • Internet connection. The game requires a high-quality Internet connection. Network cards on tablets are not capable of transmitting the data flow that is necessary for a comfortable game of Eve.

Developers from the USSR and ordinary gamers are releasing accompanying EVE Online applications for the Android OS, which will help solve some of the game processes and tasks. Let's take a closer look at them.

Programs for EVE Online on Android

Today on Google Play you can find a lot of programs for EVE Online on Android. Among them it is worth noting the following:

  • EVE Online Portal. The only official development of CCP Games. It is a full-fledged manager of your character in real time.
  • Aura. A special program that is adapted from Aura from Eve. Here you can find the most important information about the game and get useful tips.
  • EVEBusiness. An Android program designed for traders. With its help, you can sell and buy and sell all elements in Eve.
  • EVAnova. A program that allows you to obtain all the information about the characters, their skill levels, skills, etc.

There are other applications that use Eve styling to change the appearance of the interface of Android devices.

When can we expect a full-fledged game client to appear on Android?

To date, the developers from SSR Games have not announced when game users will be able to see EVE Online on Android. But given a number of global changes that have taken place in the company, as well as the growing level of popularity of tablets, in a couple of years it will be possible to easily run Eve on an Android tablet.

Perhaps this is the only universe completely controlled by players. Try playing EVE Online and appreciate all its advantages for yourself.

No matter how many hours you spend in EVE Online, there will come a time when you won't have a computer at hand. Whether you are at work, with friends, in the bathroom, in the mine, or wherever else, your connection with New Eden will be severed. Luckily, there is an app called Aura that will allow you to keep an eye on your characters anywhere on Earth. All you need for this is a mobile device with Android on board.

History of creation

Aura developer Marcel Devereux began playing EVE Online in early 2009. At that time, only one EVE application was written for Android, and even that was extremely simple and had not been updated for a long time. Fortunately, Marcel was familiar with developing applications for Google Play and had long been looking for something to do in his free time. In April 2009, he decided to start developing the Aura application.

Thanks to his wealth of experience, it didn’t take him long. Already in the summer of 2009, he published the first version of the program on the Android Market (which was later renamed Google Play). Initially, his creation was received very coldly by users. Like most similar applications at the time, Aura began to be compared to the Capsuleer program, which, according to Marcel, was “a really great program at the time.”

Much of the criticism focused on Aura's user interface rather than its features and functionality. Marcel expected this. Since he did not have much free time to develop Aura, he decided to concentrate on the functionality of the program, and not on its appearance.

He continued development and, in 2009 and 2010, finalized the program code. Then in 2011, he carried out a major interface overhaul. It took most of the summer (since he was sleep deprived due to the birth of the baby), but it was worth it. Aura users have almost stopped complaining about the inconvenience of the interface and began to demand the addition of new functions!

About the application

The Aura app allows players to keep an eye on their EVE characters from anywhere in the world. They can see exactly what skills they are currently training, track orders on the gaming market, create a leveling plan, read mail and much, much more. Aura also allows you to read the latest news and podcasts.

Players who have installed Aura have left many positive reviews, calling it "the best account management app in the world" and "the best third party app for EVE!" At the moment, there are 61,406 users and 73,260 active devices with Aura installed in the world.

Marcel is looking forward to the release of the CREST API to add many new features to the program.

About the creator

Marcel Devereux is the founder and CEO of Aideron Robotics Corporation (and he would like to remind everyone that this corporation actually exists!). He created this corporation together with his friends specifically for Aura. According to the backstory, they created a personal version of Aura (the voice in your head that helps you) for capsuleers. His corporation is engaged in everything under the sun, from VC space exploration to low-sec piracy. Shortly after the EVE: Inferno update, they joined the Federal Defense Union and became a small but highly respected corporation fighting against the Caldari State.

In real life, Marcel works as a software engineer, which explains his knowledge of developing various applications.
